Guests appreciate the open-plan living area and family-friendly amenities such as the play area and pool. However, several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and tired furnishings. While the location and setting are praised, some guests felt the property did not meet luxury expectations and noted a lack of attentive service.

Multiple guests reported significant cleanliness concerns, including dirty floors, sticky kitchenware, dead insects, and generally grubby furniture. Some guests felt compelled to clean upon arrival.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to local pubs, Windermere Lake, and scenic walks, offering easy access to attractions while remaining peaceful.

While the cottage is spacious and offers lovely views, guests found the sofas uncomfortable, bedrooms overly warm, and beds very high for children. Some positive comments were made about the open-plan lounge.

Facilities such as the play area and pool are appreciated, but many guests noted broken furniture, malfunctioning appliances, and a general lack of maintenance throughout the property.

There is no mention of welcome gifts or thoughtful extras in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

The cottage is advertised as luxury accommodation and this may have been the case a few years ago but it badly needs a refresh. The bathrooms are nice , but the rest of the cottage is very tired .The reception was poor, no explanation of where to park or assistance even though we explained we had an elderly relative with us. We couldn’t get in to our accommodation till after 4pm and had to be out by 10am. This does shorten your stay .We had a great break , but it is not luxury, nor do the reception make you feel like you have booked an expensive break .

First of all they put us in the Owl not the hedgehog. Then I reported the grill wasn’t working properly. The hob took ages to warm up and the icons were rubbed off around the oven knobs. The maintenance man said the oven was obsolete Nothing resolved while we were there. No lighting in hallway. Gate broken. Outside table warped so much you couldn’t stand a glass on it. Place was dirty. Sofas so extremely lumpy and uncomfortable they needed thrown out. Beds very very high so had to be careful with small children in case they rolled out. Hot water is scalding coming out of taps. Reported to maintenance and he said he would adjust it. It never happened. The kettle was the size of a travel kettle bearing in mind there were 8 of us. Obviously we won’t be back but feel sorry for the next family they ship in as I can’t see anything done anytime soon. Very run down.
