The Old Chapel is a beautifully converted, spacious cottage ideal for family gatherings and group stays. Guests consistently praise its stunning interiors, ample parking, ensuite bedrooms, and well-equipped kitchen. The peaceful rural setting, proximity to local pubs, and scenic views, including Highland cattle, are highlights. While some mention minor cleaning issues and confusing bin instructions, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return and recommend the property.
Most guests found the property clean and well-presented, though a few noted areas with dust, cobwebs, and some kitchen or bathroom grubbiness. These were minor and did not detract significantly from the overall experience.
The location is highly praised for its scenic beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to both the Lake District and local amenities. Some guests found the exit onto the main road challenging, but this did not overshadow the property's excellent setting.
Guests consistently highlight the spaciousness, comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms, and cosy atmosphere, even in colder weather. The property is well-suited for large groups and families.
The cottage is well-equipped with modern amenities, ample kitchen space, and thoughtful extras like a drying room and extra fridge. Minor issues were noted with the oven, shower drainage, and bin collection instructions, but overall facilities are highly rated.
Guests appreciated small touches such as blankets, games, and a coffee machine. However, some noted the absence of a welcome pack or basic provisions like milk, which are not guaranteed. Information provided could be clearer, especially regarding recycling and bins.

The property is stunning, furnished well and overall cleanliness was very good. We had some issues with slow wifi (25mb download) and had to reboot several times. Well equiped kitchen but it is an induction cooker and the small oven did not work, probably past its best and the grill tray was not clean. Our shower did not drain well and we had to turn off during showering to allow drainage and prevent flooding. However, it was lovely staying there, Ulverston 10-15 mins away, Coniston 30 mins, good shops and plenty to do in the vacinity. The property is up for sale so how much longer this will be available as a holiday let is anyone's guess.

The chapel was excellent to stay in , big rooms comfy beds and nicely decked out for the weeks stay , bit dodgy turning out the road at the end but other than that very good ,

Absolutely beautiful building - it makes such an incredible first impression. We all absolutely loved it and found it to be the most luxurious cottage we have ever stayed in. The little touches really made all the difference - blankets by the fireplace, BBQ equipment, fully stocked coffee machine, games and books to use...we felt instantly at home and wish we could have stayed longer. By the end of our first night, we were already talking about when we could come back! The only negative was the end of the road where you pull out to join the main road. It's not easy to see if anything is coming and if people come over the hill at speed it can take you by surprise. We had a very near miss that left us a bit shaken. But aside from that, the location was ideal for visiting Coniston and Windermere and we loved coming back home at the end of a busy day exploring. It was a wonderful stay!
