Guests say

River View is a spacious and comfortable cottage with a large garden, offering picturesque views and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and clean interiors, though some mention uneven steps and a lack of homely touches. The property is ideal for a relaxing holiday, with wildlife sightings adding to its charm.

The cottage is generally praised for its cleanliness, with guests finding it to be beautifully clean. However, one guest mentioned finding a few cobwebs, slightly affecting the score.

The location is appreciated for its peacefulness and proximity to wildlife, with a river nearby. Some traffic is noted, but it does not significantly disturb the tranquility. The lack of a clear boundary at the river's edge is a concern for safety.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage spacious. The heated floor is a highlight, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, uneven steps and steep lounge steps are noted as potential discomforts for some.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a good quality kitchen and utility room. However, concerns about the safety of the decking and fencing, particularly for dogs and children, and the lack of buoyancy aids near the water, indicate room for improvement in maintenance.

While guests have not specifically mentioned gifts, one suggested that a welcoming package with items such as Nespresso cups would be appreciated. As gifts are not guaranteed, this category cannot be scored.

We had the most perfect weekend away. The cottage is super spacious, comfortable and clean. The heated floor and large kitchen and bathroom were both highlights, but we loved everything. The cottage has character and we really liked the different levels and setting overlooking the mill pond. It was also so quiet and dark at night, so we slept really well too. Definitely book this place, we really want to go back!

Absolutely unsuitable for dogs or children and persons with any walking disability. Although the cottage was well laid out and beautifully clean, it has numerous levels and you can easily stub your toe on these. Also there are two steps into the lounge which are very difficult to climb - they are far too steep. The decking is very slippy and the fencing does protect a child or dog from the river, but the small wall, which is around 2.5 feet high is not protected and a child or adult could easily fall in. This really does need attention. Our dog took one look at the wall and went to jump over it - he would have landed directly in the river if he had done so. There is no buoyancy aids available should this occur and could incur a fatal injury.Everything in the cottage is of good quality. The washing machine and tumble drier work well. The fridge freezer is of good capacity and the cooker is easy to use. The super king size bed is beautiful and comfortable. All in all we had a nice time but sadly couldn't let our dog out to sniff around, due to the small wall, and had to get dressed for outdoors at the most inconvenience of times to take him out on the lead. We were not expecting this and it really ruined our time away. Would recommend to a younger couple but not for people who are older and certainly not for dogs or children.
