Resting in the medieval village of Bowes is this detached lodge, Curlew. Set over a single-storey and sleeping two guests, Curlew is a ideal and desirable dwelling for your next getaway to County Durham, within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and North Pennines Area of AONB. Off-road parking is available before you enter the property, via the decking, straight into an open-plan living space which allows you to enjoy a home-cooked meal around the table, cooked in the amply-equipped kitchen with a handy dishwasher, or flick on the TV as you bagsy a space on the sofa. Carrying on through the property there is one king size bedroom where you can escape to when the evening draws to a close, as well as a shower room. For a pleasing countryside getaway to County Durham, choose Curlew. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 963702 and 963684 together sleeping up to eight guests.
The village of Bowes boasts a traditional old pub, has a long history dating back to the Romans and has the famous landmark of Bowes Castle. Nearby is the market town of Barnard Castle, whose medieval ruins still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Within easy reach are the Bowes Museum, Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the River Tees, the Yorkshire Dales and the magnificent waterfalls at High Force.
