Garden Cottage is a charming, cosy retreat in a peaceful countryside setting, ideal for couples or solo travellers seeking relaxation and scenic walks from the doorstep. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, welcoming owner, and tranquil location with easy access to local villages and pubs. While the cottage is well-equipped for short stays, some mention limited kitchen facilities and comfort issues with seating. Thoughtful touches from the owner, such as fresh eggs and biscuits, are appreciated, though not guaranteed. Overall, it offers a delightful base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with many guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and maintained to a high standard. Only one or two minor mentions of dust or requests for cleaning tools were noted, but these did not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
The location receives high praise for its peacefulness, beautiful countryside views, and proximity to walks, villages, and local attractions. Guests appreciate being able to walk from the door and enjoy the surrounding area without much driving.
Comfort is generally good, with many guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, several reviews mention that the sofa and armchair could be more relaxing, and the sloping ceilings in the bathroom may be challenging for taller guests.
Facilities are adequate for short stays, with positive comments on equipment and parking. However, the lack of a full oven, limited kitchen utensils, and no washing machine are noted by several guests. The heating is controlled by the owner, which may be inconvenient in colder months.
Guests often mention the owner's warm welcome and thoughtful touches such as fresh eggs and biscuits. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Local area exceptionally beautiful and the host very helpful & friendly (thank you!). The cottage was very neat & tidy - very high standard of cleaning. I hope to visit again to try next door - a bigger cottage for myself & partner, but Garden Cottage was perfect for my solo needs this visit .

The owner could not have been nicer. Or kinder. The cottage was clean tidy and had all you needed. The village isn't far and Middleton is only a mile or so. Good walks all round and not far from anywhere Loverly stay. Dog friendly and will be booking again. 110 /10 xxx

The cottage was furnished to reflect its age and idyllic tranquil position. It was very clean, comfortable and furnished with comfort in mind. Parking was excellent as were access to walks within the immediate vicinity of the cottage. Time stood still. Enchanting. 5* .
