The location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with scenic walks and friendly local pubs nearby. The hosts are frequently described as welcoming and attentive, often providing thoughtful touches such as freshly baked bread and welcome packs, though these cannot be guaranteed. Minor negatives, such as personal preferences for bed firmness or small kitchen items, are far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted, with guests describing the property as spotless, immaculate, and the cleanest they have stayed in. Only one minor mention of a missing sweeping brush was noted, but this did not detract from the overall impression.

Guests find the cottage spacious, homely, and comfortable, with particular mention of quality bedding and cosy communal areas. One guest found the beds a little firm for their taste, but most found them very comfortable.

Facilities are highly rated, with the hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and ample parking frequently mentioned. Minor suggestions for kitchenware updates were noted but did not significantly impact satisfaction.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as freshly baked bread, cakes, and welcome packs on arrival, as well as attentive and friendly hosts. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

House was immaculate. Had the usual round of who's getting which room but with 6 of us and four rooms to choose from it wasn't much of a bun fight. Sitting room, plenty of space for us all to sit and relax. Kichen/dining room, again plenty of space for us all although getting around the table could be a bit tight at times if someone needed out. Could do with some new oven trays as they are starting to show a bit of age and the non stick frying pan could do with being replaced but it was no biggie for us. Garden/ hot tub area, excellent for our wee jack russell to just come and go as she pleased. Was a wee bit disappointed that we had to be inside after 10pm in the summer but understand the reasons why. Out and about in the village was great for walking the dog, she met ducks, cows, sheep and a wee Shetland pony. The Blacksmiths Arms was a nice wee pub for our 18 year old sons first legal drink. Didn't try the pizzas but they did look amazing. All in all a nice relaxing week away from work to recharge the batteries.

Really lovely house - our favourite that we have stayed at for a while. Super comfy beds and plenty of room in the lounge and dining table. We found it a good base for things we wanted to do - Barnard Castle, the beautiful nearby waterfalls, day trip to Durham and to The Forbidden Corner. Lovely hosts who greeted us when we arrived and came daily to service the hot tub. We had a lovely meal in the local pub one evening. Quite rural but we loved that about it.
