Guests say

Raven Cottage is highly praised for its spotless condition, central location, and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack and the property's proximity to local shops and eateries. The private walled garden and well-equipped kitchen are notable features. Some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, but overall, the cottage offers a delightful stay in Barnard Castle.

The cottage receives consistent commendations for its immaculate cleanliness, with multiple guests highlighting its spotless condition.

The central location is frequently praised for being quiet yet close to amenities, with easy access to parking and the high street.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and comfortable beds, though one review suggests potential difficulty with heating control.

The well-equipped kitchen and overall presentation are appreciated, but points are deducted for a faulty induction hob and a stair gate in need of repair.

The welcome pack, including treats and essentials, is frequently mentioned and adds a personal touch to the stay. However, it is politely noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

Our second visit to the cottage and stayed for an additional week this time. I just love this little cottage. It is spotlessly clean, good quality furnishings and equipment and the location is perfect. Close to car park, facilities and shops. Parking was only £20 for the fortnight which I thought was really cheap. There is nothing to dislike. It’s even lovely to just sit and watch the birds in the little garden. We appreciated the additional key this time as I’m an early riser whereas partner and daughter aren’t so this meant I could go out and do things without locking them in. One thing it would benefit from is a washer drier as opposed to just a washing machine. Staying for 2 weeks this time meant I needed to do washing and had to dry clothes on radiators and the radiators are so good that it got too hot in there. That being said, there is a laundrette on Greta Road and the cottage does have a good airer you can use and put outside in good weather. Definitely will be booking again because this is a little gem of a place. Little extras like the lovely cakes, scones and wine left by owner were really appreciated and great communication from them too. Love, love, love this place. 5 stars all round.

Fabulous! Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Raven Cottage. Spotlessly clean, terrific welcome pack (even Halloween chocolates for the kids!) and ideal location. No hesitation in recommending to family and friends.
