Find pure tranquillity as you stroll the banks of the River Wye from the doorstep of this former mill, lovingly converted into a homely hideaway ideal for families and groups of friends keen to escape to the Peak District.
Flooded with plenty of natural sunlight from the original full-length mill windows, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner effortlessly combines rustic charm with sumptuous contemporary touches. The soothing neutral hues perfectly blend into the colours of the local scenery, immersing you into the natural beauty of your surroundings, whilst the homely character sets a truly relaxing atmosphere, inviting tired travellers to unwind and dine with loved ones long into the evening. Sharing the same charm as the rest of this home-from-home, the three king-size zip-and-link bedrooms (all of which can be converted to twins) each feature sumptuously soft linens that ensure a dreamy slumber, with the master also boasting an en-suite shower room. A well-appointed family bathroom completes the interior. Overlooking the old mill wheel, the shared front patio is the perfect peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of something chilled at sundown. Guests will also find allocated parking for two cars.
The biggest town in the Peak District National Park, Bakewell is situated on the banks of the River Wye, home to a bustling outdoor market and winding streets lined with a great selection of local shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Surrounded by 105 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, culture vultures can explore the magnificent stately home of Chatsworth House or head to the grand Tudor Hall and Elizabethan gardens at Haddon Hall, both reached within 4.5 miles. Keen walkers and cyclists can join the Monsal Trail from Bakewell, which follows the former railway line of the London Midland Railway, to be rewarded with spectacular views of Monsal Viaduct and Monsal Head.
