For the walkers of the group, you can visit Great Longstone which is located about a mile east of Monsal Head, gateway to one of Derbyshire’s best-loved tourist hot-spots, yet mysteriously manages to still be somewhat off the beaten-track, if you have time, do explore this pretty village as there is much to see in terms of historic buildings, notably the magnificent hall and the sturdy-looking parish church of St Giles, which dates back to the 13th century. There are a whole host of attractions within driving distance such as the 16th century Chatsworth House and the medieval manor house at Haddon Hall, perfect for those keen history lovers among you. Holmefield is the perfect property for remote holidays.

We couldn't find any oven gloves, however a text to Richard the owner and he brought some new ones over the next day.

We had to ask several local residents and we eventually found one who knew where it was and who told us she had been asked on more than one occasion. All that needs to be put is ‘You will find the driveway to the right of the Crispin public house’ Why has this not been rectified yet is beyond me. It was a bad start to our holiday. The cottage is lovely but as previously stated in the reviews and guest book, the lounge furniture is not comfortable. The bedrooms were excellent and good quality bedding. We had a wonderful time and the area is great.
