About this property

Nestled in the charming Cornish village of Mylor Bridge at the head of the Mylor Creek is Woodbine Cottage. Just four miles from Falmouth, this delightful, detached, dog-friendly cottage boasts a spectacular location close to the endless wonders of Cornwall and its picturesque coast as well as a charming interior with period features paying homage to its creation in the 18th century, four beautifully appointed bedrooms and a patio with furniture; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Return from your day of sightseeing and enter into your new home-from-home, stepping straight into a living/dining room with a crackling woodburning stove at its heart; the perfect place to unwind.

Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen where you can help prepare a delicious meal to be enjoyed around the dining table or alfresco at the patio furniture, if the weather permits! When the evening draws to a close, wash off the day in either the ground-floor wet room, which can be accessed via the utility if you have been swimming, or a refreshing shower room on the first floor. When it comes to catching your rest; choose from a king-size with TV, perfect for lazy mornings, a double, a twin and a small twin well which has a single bed with a full-size pull out bed.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful abode, just opposite the park is a children’s play area or take a short stroll into the heart of Mylor Bridge where you can stock up on necessities at the local store, butchers and fishmongers, with the latter two having seasonal opening hours. Treat your loved ones to delicious food in the stone-built Lemon Arms; alternatively, take a short drive to the famous Pandora Inn, a thatched pub dating back to the 13th century, and dine there. The coast is also easily accessible, venture into the idyllic coastal town of Falmouth to enjoy days upon Castle Beach where you can splash around with the kids in the rock pools, or continue along the coast to bask in the sun on Gyllyngvase Beach where you can partake in kayaking, swimming or simply admire the unbeatable views across the sea.

Other must-see attractions include the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle, the breath-taking Truro Cathedral, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah, Enys and Trelissick Gardens. All this and more awaits at Woodbine Cottage.

The settlement of Mylor Bridge is located at the head of Mylor Creek, which rises from Carrick Roads, the third largest deep water harbour in the world, just four miles from Falmouth. A riverfront tavern and some wonderful gardens are typical of the area, as are boats and sailing, wooded creeks, gently lapping water, and the pubs themselves. Within walking distance of this welcoming village is a Post Office, an excellent tavern, and a number of eateries. Truro, with its historic cathedral, cathedral city status, theatre, museums, and lively commercial centre, is not to be missed, nor is the neighbouring harbour town of Falmouth, with its intriguing Maritime Museum, castle, beaches, and marina. See the incredibly picturesque Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens on your way up the Helford River by car or boat from Falmouth. The Lizard Peninsula, with its rocky shores, sandy coves, and quaint fishing villages, is conveniently close, and you can reach other popular attractions like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan in about an hour.

The village has great facilities and is in an excellent position from which to explore the area.

Good secure outside area for a dog was appreciated. We were a party of 6 covering 3 generations and everyone enjoyed the house but maybe the 3 bathrooms could benefit from a lock of some sort. Great for walks along the coast and cross country to the Pandora Inn! Falmouth just a 15 minute drive away.

It was clear there was much thought, love and consideration that went in to how the house is laid out to create a real ‘home from home’ for guests who we had the pleasure of meeting on our arrival. The location is superb with fantastic local amenities. Thank you for hosting us, we loved staying at Woodbine Cottage and hope to return some day.
