The property's peaceful countryside setting is frequently commended, with its proximity to Honiton and the south coast adding to its desirability.
Reviews highlight the comfortable beds, warm atmosphere, and overall comfort of the barn conversions. The only minor issue raised is a preference for thicker duvets or additional blankets on colder nights.
The property is well-equipped for home cooking and family stays, with a good Wi-Fi connection and other amenities. The mention of ample bin bags and dishwasher tablets suggests good maintenance.
The welcome hampers and the friendly approach of the keyholder, Ted, are appreciated gestures. While these gifts enhance the experience, it's noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed.
A combination of two properties sitting next door to each other, giving the flexibility of privacy if needed but with the option to travel as a larger party. Both properties have open plan kitchen/dining rooms and sitting rooms with wood burning stoves. Features include oil-fired underfloor heating downstairs, wood-burning stove and electric double oven. They each have a fully enclosed garden.
Lower Curscombe Barn is made up of two properties; Harvest Moon (sleeping eight guests) and Hunters Moon (sleeping four guests), both semi-detached properties siting next door to each other near Feniton in Devon. These properties have been beautifully converted from a 400-year-old threshing barn, situated on a quiet, semi-working farm in the tiny hamlet of Curscombe. Surrounded by picturesque fields, you are in an ideal location for an outdoor break in Devon, where you can walk your dog, paddle in the stream or enjoy a picnic. There are wonderful views, abundant birdlife, and wildlife including foxes, deer, badgers and hares are often spotted.
For small groups, Harvest Moon and Hunters Moon can be booked separately.
