The Sail Loft in Teignmouth is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and prime location close to the beach and local amenities. Guests appreciate the property's layout, ample room for large families, and proximity to dining options. The area offers plenty to do, with easy access to Shaldon via ferry. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with guests keen to return.
Guests generally found The Sail Loft to be very clean, with only some unseen areas being dusty. The positive remarks on cleanliness suggest a high standard, although the mention of dust in less visible spots slightly affects the score.
The location is consistently lauded as perfect, being very close to the beach and town centre. Its convenience for family activities and dining options contributes to a high score.
The property is described as spacious and well-decorated, with oversized furniture and a layout that accommodates large groups without feeling crowded. The presence of TVs in each bedroom adds to the comfort level.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and ensuite bedrooms. However, some guests noted a lack of a property book, insufficient dining chairs, and a shortage of glasses and mugs. A maintenance issue with hot water was promptly addressed.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The Sail Loft is set on Ivy Lane opposite Teignmouth’s historic coastguard station and cottages, and is also only a couple of minutes’ walk from the town centre and seafront. It’s the perfect getaway for foodies, shoppers, families, walkers, beach and water sport lovers due to its enviable central location. Teignmouth is a traditional seaside town on the south coast of Devon where the Georgian and Victorian architecture and the steam railway tell of its seaside holiday heritage. You can enjoy traditional fish and chip shops, fine seafood restaurants and a collection of fun attractions. Why not take a ferry to the charming neighbouring village of Shaldon? The train offers easy accessibility to the beautiful city of Exeter, home to an architecturally intricate cathedral and unique shops. Just a short car journey from Teignmouth is Dartmoor National Park with tors, historical sites and ancient woodlands to explore. Teignmouth is also linked to the moors by the Templar Way, an 18-mile walking route, which traces the journey that Haytor granite would historically make when exported from Dartmoor.

Spacious holiday home in a good location for both the main beach and the back beach. We visited as a family group of 5 adults and 3 children aged 6 and under and there was no sense of being on top of each other.Plenty of things to do nearby for all the family. The only minus points were the lack of a property book with details of local amenities and instructions on appliances, bins, recycling etc, and although generally very clean any unseen areas were extremely dusty. Having said that we would definitely visit again.

The sail loft is beautifully decorated, large, spacious and very clean. It was lovely to have washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets available to use . We were a family of 8 staying and we had plenty of room, although we couldnt have sat at the dining table without moving all the furniture around. Car parks are very close. Its definitely worth downloading the Ring Go parking app so you dont have to faff with change and you can increase your time on the app. We paid £5.70 for 24hrs. For unloading the car we just parked outside the flat and carried everything in super quick, its a very tiny lane and not used frequently. Teignmouth and Shaldon are lovely. Plenty to do, lovely places to eat, can recommend all the takeaways on the back beach car park, The Nes at Shaldon, the Clipper at Shaldon and Coombe Cellars. Go to Shaldon on the little ferry off back beach. Highly recommend this property and area.
