Westgate Cottage in Devon is a characterful and quaint property, appreciated for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches by the owners. Guests enjoyed the central location, proximity to a welcoming village pub, and the comprehensive information provided. While some found the shower facilities and kitchen arrangement could be improved, the overall experience was homely and relaxing, with special mentions of the welcome fudge.
The cottage is consistently described as spotlessly clean, beautifully kept, and very homely, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The central location in Devon, near coastal areas and a friendly village pub, is well-regarded, making it a desirable spot for guests.
The property is noted for its quaintness and comfort, although there are comments about a short quilt and a difficult-to-use shower for taller guests.
Facilities are generally good, with mentions of a well-catered property and thoughtful details. However, points are deducted for the repeatedly mentioned awkward shower setup and lack of a microwave.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome fudge and comprehensive information provided. While gifts are warmly received, they are a personal touch and not guaranteed.

Good Points - kitchen extremely well stocked with cutlery/utensils/pots/pans/plates etc, Overall cleanliness standard high, central heating worked well, plenty of hot water, comfy bed, modern looking bathroom, double oven worked well. Bad points - Wardrobe in main bedroom difficult to open, left open for the week in fear it would not open again, blankets on sofas were covered in dog hair and not washed, shower pressure EXTREMELY bad, bathroom ceiling not high enough for flat overhead attachment, which made it difficult to use other attachment. All the windows are locked down and difficult to open.

Bed was comfy. Lots of hot water but low pressure. The cottage had everything you needed except a microwave. Wardrobe doors in the main bedroom need attention as they do not slide well. We had to leave them open as they jammed otherwise. Lots of information provided. We enjoyed our week. The Old Malt Scoop pub was great, very welcoming and good food.

It was very homely. A few things could be improved. The single Quilt was too short so my feet were cold, The shower was very weak and the kitchen arrangement was a bit awkward. However the cottage was beautiful, good to have the parking space by the cottage and we enjoyed our stay.
