Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. Also a lovely welcome a hamper with biscuits scones jam clotted cream and a bottle of wine a very nice touch. Lovely seeing the horses in the fields every morning I can only imagine how lovely it will be on a summers day. Bed was comfy shower hot and walk in wardrobe with full length mirror was great. Kitchen was well stock with pots and pans and every utensil you would need. Down side was no coasters to put cups or glasses on I felt bad putting them straight on the coffee table also maybe some cushions on the settee because this was a little uncomfortable on your back the seat area is so wide , but these are minor things. We all had a fantastic time staying at the lodge and would certainly visit again.
