It is a lovely cottage and the surrounding area by the golf course is great. However, it could be so much better with a few improvements. The outdoor terraces need a good clean. The old worn sofas need replacing. And when it is hot, it needs a fan in each room as it is a warm property when it is warm outside. If the owners acted on feedback that I have read previously, this could be a brilliant holiday property. We did enjoy staying here and the location is peaceful and beautiful and we loved the nearby coast , especially Blackpool Sands. We enjoyed using the tennis courts.

Located on the site of the golf course, and within easy access of Dartmouth, Torquay and other local attractions, it was a good place to stay.Unfortunately, the accommodation was tired - tears in the leather sofas, large worn marks on the kitchen counters. Although we had to wait for the cleaners to finish in the lodge before we were allowed in, there were several areas that had obviously not been cleaned that day, or indeed for a while. The floor under the sofas was clearly dirty, the living room curtains were stained, the balcony was covered in moss, dust, leaves and dirt, and the velux window in the top en-suite had spiders webs and thick dust/dirt all around the seal. Customer service was mostly polite but not overly helpful - we were unable to have a drink in the bar when we arrived 1/2 hour before check in time as there was a private event and nowhere else they would serve us - we had travelled for 4 hours with a 4 year old in our group. Also, we were refused one extra dishwasher tablet on our last day, as apparently they didn’t have any left.As a family of 6, we had a pleasant 4 night stay, but wouldn’t recommend to others.

I am writing to provide some feedback following our stay at kingfisher lodgeFirstly, we had a lovely holiday and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area. The location was beautiful, and overall we had a wonderful time. However, there were several issues with the lodge and some aspects of the accommodation that we felt were either poorly maintained or not accurately represented in the holiday description. The issues we experienced were as follows:The property was advertised as having a gas BBQ actually it was a charcoal BBQ it was also in poor condition with no plate to catch the coals and was rusty and old. We considered it unsafe to use and believe it requires it a repair or replacement. The bedroom door handle broke during our stay, would like to thank the maintenance team who responded promptly. The outdoor furniture was old and is need of a deep clean. The furniture on terrace area was particularly worn. One of the towels provided had a large noticeable stain. The tin opener provided was broken and unusable. The roasting tin in oven was peeling very badly and unsafe to use.Sofa was worn and plastic covering peeling way. Patio table was dirty on arrival. Down stairs curtains had stains on the bottom needed replacing or cleaning. Accommodation listed as having two swimming pools but was only one as this was misleading. Children could only use the pool early morning and afternoon. Overall it did not spoil our holiday but when the issues could have been easily addressed through better maintenance, house keeping, and more accurate advertising.I would appreciate your comments on the points raised and would like to know what action will be taken to address these issues for future guests.I also believe some consideration should be given in recognition of the discrepancies between the advertised facilities and what was actually provided. Thankyou for taking the time consider my feedback. I look forward to hearing from you.
