Situated within the Dartmoor National Park, set back from a beautiful, leafy stretch of the B3212 and a mile from Doccombe, these two lodge-style properties (refs W43911, 28924), accessed via a track, are adjacent to the owners’ home. The holiday lodges lie in a lovely setting that offer a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. There are 13 acres of beautiful, ancient woodland and a field, complete with a stream winding its way through the land, plus an abundance of wildlife and granite boulders. A rich variety of plants and woodland flowers offer an idyllic haven for the resident wildlife. This is a brilliant area for walking, relaxing and star gazing as there is no light pollution. Nearby, a golf club and horse riding over Dartmoor are available. Being in the midst of Dartmoor, there are many superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad tors and Dartmoor ponies. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in the springtime, the Dunsford woods are famous for beautiful natural daffodils and a little later, a carpet of bluebells. Exeter is only 10 miles. Beach 14 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Lovely cottage, cosy and comfortable in a stunning location. Fantastic birdsong and views of clear skies from the garden. Lots of walks from the door. Alison was friendly but not intrusive and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at Brook Lodge, in it's peaceful woodland setting. We went to sleep every night in the very comfortable king size bed, listening to the little stream that runs through the garden, and two tawny owls calling to each other. The only downside of this is that you are a long way from a shop or a pub. We coped with the downstairs bathroom, but at our age, you have to be careful on the stairs. We would recommend a visit to the nearby village of Chagford and the fascinating Castle Drogo N.T.
