Pick up a small aperitif and step aboard a river cruise (season permitting) before catching a matinee at the Roses Theatre. If historic splendour is on the agenda, Tewkesbury is home to a 12th-century abbey, adorned with one of the highest Norman towers in the country, and the largest medieval re-enactment festival in Europe in July. Perfect spot for a relaxing break. Clean, well equiped cottage only a short walk from the centre of Tewkesbury positioned right on the lock

It got very warm inside the property. Heatwave 33c & 37c made things uncomfortable. It is quite well insulated but I would recommend taking a fan or two in hot weather. There are plenty of doors and windows that can be opened to cool things down.Very nice location with good views of the loch, river and boats. Many walking opportunities long or short and mostly level.Tewksbury has everything you need and a pleasant short walk away. The Royal Hop Pole is good for meals, including breakfast, good quality and value. The air conditioning was most welcome in the heatwave. Not many Wetherspoons are as good as this.The Cross House Inn is an excellent pub for cask conditioned ale served straight from the cask.

Nice clean holiday let overlooking the lock gates. It had a very low sofa. Sparse on kitchen utensils. Including no can opener. Only 1 key which is a fire hazard for the other 2 exits.
