Refresh in either the ground-floor shower room, or climb the spiral staircase to the second bathroom. Settling into the the plush king-size bed, with beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork, lofty eaves, and a balcony, all adding to the charm of the cosy and peaceful bedroom. On your doorstep you'll find plenty of popular restaurants and pubs, including the lively Nottingham Arms and the Brittania as well as the more refined Gupshill Manor a short drive away. Nearby are numerous shops and supermarkets to stock up on the essentials, with a local Tesco within walking distance. The town has two theatres, Tewkesbury Museum, and the stunning Tewkesbury Abbey, for a taste of culture. Further afield head towards the elegant Regency town of Cheltenham, where you can take a stroll around Montpellier Gardens, tour the many art galleries and museums or take in a performance at the theatre before dining at one of the town’s fine restaurants.

Alternatively attend one of the race days or events held at Cheltenham Racecourse. Gloucester, also nearby, offers the historic Docks and the magnificent cathedral, before exploring the Malvern Hills AONB or venturing further to the Cotswolds AONB. Experience all of this and more from The Coach House.

On the confluence of the Rivers Severn and Avon, this historic riverfront town retains its mediaeval charm with many half-timbered Tudor structures. With more than 350 buildings that are recognised as being of historic interest and located in a conservation area, Tewkesbury is renowned for having one of the outstanding mediaeval Black and White townscapes in the nation. In addition to numerous museums, a heritage centre, and a wealth of unique shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, and wine bars, the town is home to an impressive 12th-century abbey with the tallest Norman tower in England. The town hosts music festivals, vintage and food fairs, farmers' markets, and other events all year round. The Severn Way and Shakespeare's Avon Way are both close by, and there are many excellent walks that can be enjoyed from the town. An ancient Georgian town close to the opulent spa resort of Cheltenham, it offers a staggering selection of stores, theatres, restaurants, pubs, and tourist attractions. Other festivals in this bustling town include ones for comedy, music, science, literature, and cricket, to mention a few!

Perfectly located and it really is a home-from-home. The bed is so comfortable! Be aware - it would be quite easy to walk out of the upstairs bathroom and take a tumble down the spiral staircase, particularly after a few of the local ciders. Maybe a tasteful barrier could be installed for night time safety. We thorughly enjoyed our Coach House stay and would highly recommend it.

Downstairs has a kitchen and living room , really comfortable sofas and a nice size tv which is unusual for lettings. The shower room downstairs was also handy . Upstairs there is a bathroom , landing area and nice size bedroom with a really comfortable bed and lots of bedding . We were concerned it would be cold and took throws etc but it wasn’t at all and infact we turned the thermostat down to 10c at night . Nice walks along the river , beautiful Christmas Eve service at the Abbey , some lovely meals out and we followed the heritage trail found on a booklet looking at the beautiful Tudor houses on a Christmas Day walk . Very near to our daughter in Cheltenham and nice to explore a new town . The bedroom, living areas and bathrooms were nice and clean . The only disappointing things we encountered was the fact that the kitchen could do with a really deep clean . The dish cloth really smelt and I had to soak it in boiled water and a little bleach before use . The kitchen drawers and cupboards had lots of crumbs etc . I emptied the cutlery drawer and washed it all and got rid of all the stains and crumbs but didn’t want to do any others on my holiday . The condiments and teas also need a good sort out as many have expired . This was also the only cottage we have ever been to that didn’t have a welcome pack . Some milk for a cup of tea etc would have been nice on arrival to save us going back out for it after our long drive . We really enjoyed our stay despite these little niggles and it was a lovely little Christmas.
