We had a wonderful time. It was just my Wife, Myself and our dog Noodles. We just needed a break and this was just the place. Hay on Wye is 4 miles away, and was ideal for a coffee and browsing the book shops. The Pandy Inn in Dorstone was a lovely friendly pub, with excellent food. We also went to The Castlefields pub for Sunday lunch, again the food was excellent.Previous reviews said that there was a problem with car headlights during the night. We were a bit perplexed about this, as there is no chance of headlights shining into the cottage. We have an electric car, and charged up in Hay on Wye. There are slow chargers at Oxford Road car park, and rapid chargers at the Co-Op.

To be fair to the host the heating did get up to a reasonable level on the third day and they came and managed to change the scalding hot shower to a useable state though we were unable to change it further. The headlights shining into.the bedroom until the early hours on an incredibly busy rural road and the total lack of wi fi it was not the quiet location we were looking for when we booked. My partner also burnt herself on the towel rail so this device is clearly not safe and the cottage should not be used until this is fixed. All in all sadly we can't recomend booking badgers

While seeming a nice location the cottage was freezing cold when we arrived. Turning the heating up to max two days later it got to a balmy 18 degrees. While it may or may not be the owners fault there's no Internet available which given one of the reasons we choose badgers wa the ultra fast broadband. The shower seemed to have only two settings freezing cold or scalding hot. At night for a quiet rural location the road is incredibl busyw8th headlights shining into the bedroom until the early hours. Overall if I could give it minus stars I would.
