This new lodge has been completed in 2023 and offers a fabulous romantic break away for two with a private hot tub! It has ground floor accommodation and is pet friendly allowing your four-legged friends to join this will be the ideal break to explore this beautiful area. The lovely open plan living space has patio doors that lead onto the enclosed decked area which is lit at night and houses the private hot tub. Watch the sun go down whilst taking a dip and having that well deserved drink. The owner has thoughtfully provided bathrobes for your convenience.
The popular town of Hay-on-Wye, known as the town of books and famous for its annual literary festival, is a must visit, with its little boutiques and restaurants and coffee shops there is something here for everyone. Guests can enjoy walking along Offa’s Dyke, the Herefordshire Trail and Marches Way. You are also close to the River Wye and within an easy drive of the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the River Wye. Golf, fishing, horse riding, and canoeing can all be found locally so there is something for everyone to enjoy. There are many National Trust properties to enjoy close by, such as Skenfrith Castle. .Merbach Hill Holidays is set in the ground of The Castlefields and serves food everyday and also drinks but it is advisable to book.
Hereford city and the town of Ross-on-Wye are set nearby, and both offer a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. Merbach Hill View Holidays is set in a beautiful area with stunning views.

We had a lovely week at Swallow Lodge. First and foremost the accommodation was very comfortable in every respect and had good facilities topped off by the wonderful hot tub which was a delight at the end of the day especially as we did a lot of walking....so relaxing! Good rural location only a short drive to lovely Hay on Wye, although Castlefields pub restaurant was only yards from the property there was little noise and didn't detract from the privacy and quiet. Carol was a good host leaving a welcome box of food and drink on arrival and calling in to check everything was okay. Exploring the Wye Valley & nearby Brecon Beacons and National Park was a treat fantastic scenery and so much to do and see. Sugar Loaf Mountain & Brecon Mountain Railway were highlights. Highly recommend the location and property.

A perfect base for visiting the beautiful surrounding area. The restaurant serves excellent food and has very friendly and accommodating staff. It is very close, but it wasn’t a problem at all as we felt very private. The hot tub was lovely - very relaxing. We will definitely be coming back for more!

We had a fabulous stay at swallow lodge, it was in the perfect location for visiting Hay on Wye. The accommodation had all the amenities that we needed and the hot tub was great after a day out. When booking I hadn't read all the details regarding location, the lodge is in the grounds of a pub which is great though it can mean it doesn't feel as private as some people might prefer. This didn't detract from our experience though and would definitely return
