Inviting couples and small families, the two-bedroom, first-floor, dog-friendly retreat nestles in Kilnsea on Spurn Point, an astounding peninsula between the North Sea and Humber Estuary. Some 3 miles-long but only 50 metres wide in places, the magical spit is home to an array of wildlife and offers far-reaching views in every direction.
Climb the stairs up to the first floor to discover your welcoming accommodation. Enter the lounge/diner where comfortable seating awaits after your long walks and trips out. Settle on the sofas in front of the Smart TV or watch a DVD. Open the table to dine together after preparing delicious, homecooked meals through in the nearby kitchen. This well-equipped, light space has been designed to make self-catering as easy as possible. When you are ready to lay your head on your pillow, wander through to one of the two bedrooms. These include a king-size room, with a bed that can be arranged as two singles instead if discussed in advance, and a welcoming double bedroom. There is also a well-appointed family bathroom at the property, while the washing machine can be found in an outbuilding. Have morning coffee out at the picnic table on fine days and relax out here with a cup of tea on sunny afternoons.
Stroll 1 mile from the apartment to the beach then wander along the sand and through the dunes to spot migrating birds. Visit the Discovery Centre, also 1 mile away, where you can take part in organised walks, as well as wildlife and military safaris. Venture 10 miles to Withernsea to climb the 144 steps of the lighthouse to take in the panoramic views over the town and coastline.
