This stone-built period cottage is located in the peaceful village of Hunton, a short drive from the historic Yorkshire market town Richmond. Full of charm and character, the cottage has been tastefully renovated, combining modern style with original features such as original fireplaces. Set over two floors, on entering the cottage you will find the welcoming downstairs lounge featuring a woodburning stove, perfect for relaxing in front of after a day out exploring what the local area has to offer. The ground floor also includes a light and airy kitchen with dining area, a fantastic space to sit and enjoy a family meal or prepare a picnic lunch. Ideal for families, the first floor provides two cosy bedrooms, one with a luxurious king-size bed and the other with twin beds. The cottage is complete with a well-equipped family bathroom.Hunton is a small picturesque village boasting a friendly local pub. The Countryman's Inn, serving local ales and as the name suggests, conveniently situated next to the cottage. A short stroll will take you to the local play area, ideal for the children to run off any excess energy. A short six mile drive from Hunton you will find the popular Richmond with its 11th century castle and cobbled streets, described by some as the jewel in the crown of the Yorkshire Dales! Within easy reach are the market towns of Barnard Castle, Leyburn and Hawes, there are also a fine choice of activities and places to visit nearby, including spending a day at the beautiful Fountain's and Jervaulx Abbey. Situated in Lower Wensleydale, the village of Hunton is just five miles from Leyburn. Local facilities include a pub with restaurant, a traditional shop with post office and a village green with play area. With Wensleydale and Swaledale easily accessible, this is an excellent place for walking enthusiasts, although the towns of Richmond and Middleham are within a 10-minute drive, as are the attractive market towns of Bedale and Leyburn. With a golf course less than a mile from Hunton itself, the area has something to suit all tastes. Other attractions include Fountains Abbey, the Beamish and Lightwater Valley as well as Constable Burton Hall Gardens - with extensive parkland and woodland walks â and the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore.
