Some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but overall experiences were positive, with special mentions of a warm welcome and festive touches.

Mixed feedback on cleanliness, with some guests finding the cottage very clean while others reported issues with kitchen cleanliness, stained bed sheets, and flaking paint.

The location is highly praised for being central, tucked away, and ideal for exploring the surrounding areas, despite some concerns about night-time lighting and accessibility.

Guests found the cottage comfortable, with large rooms and a cosy multifuel burner, though there were some minor issues with hot water supply and pillow quality.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, there were significant maintenance issues reported, including heating problems and broken furniture.

While guests appreciated the warm and welcoming atmosphere, with festive decorations mentioned, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of thoughtful gestures, and they are not guaranteed.

Really disappointed Little garden fine and enclosed but ended up shutting the curtains in living room/dinning room on the front of the cottage/yard as right outside the windows is lines of bins with rubbish piled on top and old kids toys was discusting. The access was through a little passage which was cluttered up with the remnants of the cafe which seems to use the whole area as overflow Very cold house we had a very wet cold week so stayed in abit more then we normally would but heating not on during the day.Shower was impossible to turn of very stiff husband had to go in after it was used to wrap a towel round it to turn off.Beds are like wood so we ended up putting duvets folded up to lay on and it made it slightly more tolerable otherwise we would have just left as couldn’t sleep on them.cottage not clean dusty, cobwebs flaking paint and very dated.Really did spoil our holiday and would definitely not return

Kitchen cupboards needed cleaning before use. Flaking paint due to damp. Dining chairs filthy. Beds sheets stained on arrival, guests had to stay in hotel overnight. Sofa springs broken. No heating on christmas day, gas ran out and no replacement available. 3rd bedroom smelt of damp. Unknown when bed sheets changed as there is a sign saying not to strip beds that haven't been slept in. Old food remnants left on grill pan and fat left on cooker guard at the side of the cooker. We had to change properties on Christmas day. Cottages.com customer service was excellent during this stressful christmas stay.
