The cottage has been extended to create a warm and inviting living space, complete with exposed beams, an electric wood burner, and a Smart TV with Netflix and Sky package. French doors lead through to a spacious country-style kitchen/dining area, fully equipped with modern appliances including a washing machine, gas hob, and electric oven.
To the rear, a porch provides a useful space for coats and boots, while outside, a private enclosed patio, just a few yards from the cottage, offers seating and bike storage. The ground floor features a separate toilet for added convenience. Upstairs, you’ll find a kingsize master bedroom with lovely sea views, a twin and a modern shower room.
Set in the heart of the village within walking distance to Runswick bay, and a short walk from the welcoming local pub, Lobster Pot is just a five-minute drive from Staithes. This historic fishing village is home to a charming pier, excellent pubs, and a highly regarded steak restaurant. A little further along the coast lies the atmospheric town of Whitby, with its dramatic Abbey ruins, connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and a wide choice of shops, bars, and boat trips. Absolutely amazing stay here, the place is decorated beautifully with really cute touches in the property that are in keeping with the area. (I’d love to know where the ammonite door knobs are from!) The hosts were kind enough to allow (after we asked permission) our bigger German shepherd dog to stay with us too despite the small dog rule. We would definitely stay again. Only issue was the kettle wasn’t working so we had to use the hob to make a cup of tea, but an easy fix I’m sure for the host and the light in the downstairs loo was also not working. Everything else was genuinely perfect. Area is perfect for exploring all the local coastlines, Staithes, Runswick bay, sandsend, Whitby, port mulgrave and Kettleness all very close. Thankyou lobster pot for a fabulous break!

A lovely clean cottage warm and well equipped One small negative - there was a security light shining on the main bedroom all night long it lit up the room and I found it difficult to sleep even though the bed was comfortable Perhaps a pair of blackout blinds on the windows would resolve this ?However overall very nice

Had a wonderful stay at lobster pot . Beautiful clean house has everything we needed. Beds so comfy and great addition having a extra space when entering back door to take shoes coats off great for us to wipe dogs paw after long muggy walks. Would definitely recommend this property 👌
