While some guests have concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, many are keen to return, enchanted by the cottage's quirks and value.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding The Cottage to be tidy in essential areas like bed linen and bathrooms, while others noted issues with pet hair, dust, and general cleanliness. The divided opinions result in an average score.

Lovely location and very cosy cottage. This is our second visit. It has a homely feel that you don't always get. Our dogs loved it too. Lovely local sandy beaches and the best smokies. Perfect break. We'll be back again in August.

Although the property is old, it has a lot of character, could do with being a little cleaner but having said that it was clean in the important places ie bed linen was clean bathrooms and toilets were clean. Lovely spot to see the castles and beaches nearby. Lovely little cottage and amazing value compared to the other properties in the area. Lots of little extras included ie soaps, sugar, sauces spices etc. Attended local Burns Night event at the Northern Vaults which was great. Would definitely stay again

Absolutely fantastic break over the Christmas period. The Cottage had Christmas lights up and decorations up, it was beautiful. There was a log fire which made it extra special. In the drawers there was everything from needle kits to plastic bags to just about everything you would need in an emergency. It couldn't have been more thoughtful. There was plenty of room. Words cannot describe it fully as it was so perfect. High recommend it and that is only if I don't get to booking it first 😊❣️
