A warm cosy cottage with open plan living area with the lounge looking out across the views and garden. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a dining table perfect for enjoying evening meals. The two bedrooms are light and airy, one with a double bed and the other two singles that can be joined together to create a double. There is also a modern shower room. Outside there is a lovely patio area leading down to the garden below perfect for sitting out and relaxing in on the long summer evenings. This property is not suitable for people with mobility problems due to the few steps leading to the house and down to the garden.
The historic market town of Crieff is just four minutes’ drive away where you will find a fantastic selection of local shops, coffee shops and tea rooms along with bars and restaurants. If you are feeling energetic then a trip to the Crieff Hydro is a must where there is a whole selection of activities on offer from alpaca trekking to Rifle shooting and treetop adventures to mention a few. Crieff is a popular town not only for its history of cattle droving but now famous for whisky and Glenturret Distillery. A visit to the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre as well is highly recommended.
Drive another twenty minutes, you will be able to enjoy day trips to the magnificent Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or visit the attractive small villages in the area. Still within easy driving distance, day trips can be enjoyed at Stirling which offers retail therapy as well as visitor attractions including Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. A cosy and comfortable cottage but location wasn’t ideal for me. Offsite parking is only available in what was a very muddy spot, given there had been heavy rains. I dare say in better weather this would have been less bothersome but there had been days of heavy rains. To get to the parking from the cottage involved crossing a busy road on a bend. Access to the cottage door was up a narrow lane which was strewn with traffic cones etc, which while I assume is temporary, as a solo traveller doing regular dog walks, it wasn’t ideal. In Gilmerton the only real route for a decent dog walk was accessed via the very muddy track, otherwise it involved walking along the busy country road or driving elsewhere to start a walk. It’s a pity as the cottage itself had a great outlook, was bright and the mattress was comfortable. Pack your own tea bags and kindling as neither were provided and the fireplace hadn’t been cleaned out ready for our arrival. It was fair value for what we paid but I’d have been disappointed to have paid high season prices and had to get kindling to get the fire going on the first night given the shop is two miles away. There was also only one bath towel and small towel provided per adult for a five night stay but there is a washing machine.

Comfortable wee flat, not much in the way of local amenities. Crieff has really gone downhill
