Tucked away in a secluded, private location beside the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, this charming cottage offers spectacular sea views and is just a short stroll from the sandy shores of West Angle Bay. Sleeping up to five guests, the cottage is a perfect retreat for families, couples, or friends seeking a tranquil coastal escape with the convenience of nearby attractions.
Inside, the accommodation is thoughtfully laid out with all the essentials on the ground floor. There are two comfortable bedrooms: a double room and a bunk-style room featuring a double bed on the bottom and a single bed above, ideal for children or additional guests. There is a small family bathroom with shower over bath. The kitchen and dining area provide everything you need for self-catering stays, from leisurely breakfasts to hearty evening meals after a day of exploring.
Upstairs, the galleried living room offers a cosy and inviting space with a log burner at its heart. Sink into a comfy sofa, a perfect setting for unwinding with a book, a board game, or a glass of wine.
Outside, the cottage boasts a generous garden with outdoor seating, ideal for al fresco dining, soaking up the sun. The cottage is also pet-friendly, so your four-legged companion can enjoy the holiday too.
The location is second to none. From your doorstep, enjoy walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, with breathtaking views and hidden coves. West Angle Bay, known for its calm waters and family-friendly beach, is perfect for swimming, rock pooling, and picnicking. Chapel Bay Fort and Museum is within walking distance from the cottage, a military fortress, museum and café, worth a visit whilst staying in the area.
Nearby attractions include the historic Angle Village, the medieval Pembroke Castle, and Freshwater West, a popular surfing beach and filming location. Barafundle Bay, often ranked among the UK’s best beaches, and the wildlife-rich Stackpole Estate are also within easy reach.
You can enjoy a variety of boat trips that showcase the region’s stunning coastline and rich marine life. From Tenby, embark on a Seal Safari or a cruise to Caldey Island with Tenby Boat Trips, offering close encounters with seals, seabirds, and picturesque views of the South Pembrokeshire coast. The property is deceptively spacious when you get inside. Two bedrooms, kitchen , bathroom and dining room downstairs, with a large lounge area upstairs with two corner sofas and a chair positioned in a reading nook. The kitchen was very well equipped with good quality appliances. It’s set in an ideal position for walkers as it’s right on the coastal path and in easy walking distance of Angle beach where you will find a great little cafe.The cottage is billed as dog friendly but the owners don’t want dogs in the upstairs lounge or in the bedrooms which seemed a bit odd. No hairdryer in the property and the road to it is a bit bumpy to say the least.But I would recommend it as we had a really lovely week there and would definitely revisit in the future.

I agree with everything said in the previous review - the location is magnificent if you like peace and quiet! The cottage is down a dirt track that is only used by this house (and the attached neighbours). The nearest sign of a life is the old fort, but that appears to have been closed for a few years. There is a beautiful beach and cafe (around 15 minutes walk), a pub in the village and another newly opened pub a 15 minute walk away (check the opening hours, they are odd!). The house is well furnished, the upstairs in particular is lovely and you get a sea view from up there too. As previous reviewers have said, it could do with a little more TLC, but it is still good value. Very important note for dog owners - dogs are not allowed upstairs in the living room or in the bedrooms which just leaves them in the kitchen and dining room. The garden is a great size for dogs but is shared/open-plan with the neighbours and is not enclosed. Great for humans like me who love the peace and quiet (but I wouldn't take a dog).

There is a lot to like about Chapel Bay Cottage. The well equipped kitchen with the range, the large lounge with the big comfortable sofas. If you like isolation this is ideal. A few walkers tackling the coast path are probably the only people you might see. The Hibernia pub in the village is great. The beaches are magnificent. A couple of niggles. Cleaning could be a more thorough. There were too many cobwebs around. We booked the cottage through Dog Friendly Cottages and were disappointed to see that dogs were not allowed in the upstairs lounge. This is a very odd. Had we known this fact we would not have booked this cottage.So a conditional recommendation for the cottage.
