What our customers say about their holidays

Everything was as expected and any comments seem like I am nitpicking (I probably am), but feel they should be mentioned.
Cheap and easy to fix, but some furniture really needs replacing. A drawer front fell off in one of the bedrooms, the chairs at the dining table have seen better days.....several were missing backs. I'm not sure if there's a knack to it, but we struggled to close the blinds on the skylights so left them closed once we'd managed it. We loved the quirkiness and it brought back many memories from childhood.......loved that there were many original features still in the building from the pulpit, to the hymn book and bible. Whilst I appreciate it is an old building, it would benefit from some high level cleaning as there were lots of cobwebs, though not sure how you go about this. The games room was a BIG hit, the piano and table tennis in particular though may be worth getting a piano tuner in. Beds were comfy, HUGE plus points there. Also, may not mean much to many, but I absolutely loved the well equipped kitchen, especially having sharp knives, a good sized oven, and plenty of cookware. There's not a garden or any outdoor area to speak of but that wasn't a problem for us - the games room made up for this, as well as the park/tennis courts across the road. We did need to contact Roger at one point but can't fault the communication, he replied and was brilliant. If you're looking for base that is quirky, has plenty of space, and a games room to keep the teens happy, this is definitely the place for you. We had a great week, thank you!

This is an absolutely wonderful cottage.
Not only in a beautiful village, with picture postcard vistas, it is extremely well presented and equipped, even if you had the full quota of guests, which is not always the case. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very much hope we will visit again or even the smaller cottage next door. Close to Salisbury, Wilton, Stonehenge, Old Sarum and Amesbury and plenty a bit further afield too. Really, the best of all worlds, countryside walks, city history and heritage. Highly recommended. Would be ideal for a family get together. Marvellous for Christmas. Due to age and layout of cottage there are some low ceilings, varying levels and narrow staircase. This is is only important if you have people in your party that may find it tricky. I would recommend asking if it is likely to be an issue for you. That said my 83 year old mother in law managed ok, carefully! Has downstairs loo which makes life easier. Lovely pub, just refurbished and reopened and community shop, post office/café was very handy. Don't miss Reddish House, former home of Sir Cecil Beaton/Toyah Wilcox and Robert Fripp, all but next door.

Shutts House Garden Apartment surpassed our expectations.
Itâs even nicer in reality than it looks in the photos; so spacious and luxurious, offering every facility we could have wished for during our stay. The beds were fantastically comfortable and everywhere was immaculately clean. Nigel was the perfect host. He emailed us a week before our stay with ample helpful information including directions, general information about the property itself, plus various useful tips on local places to eat and visit. He also provided us with a lovely welcome pack of goodies. As mentioned in the listing, Nigel lives upstairs in the property with a separate access, but we never once felt observed at any time during our stay. He manages to strike the perfect balance of being welcoming (he popped round to say hello upon arrival and check we were ok) whilst also being extremely discrete and allowing us total privacy. We found Coombe Bissett to be a small but picturesque village with lovely dog walks over Coombe Bissett Down right on the doorstep. I canât recommend this property highly enough.

We came as a family of six, plus 2 year old toddler, we all agreed we would love to return to this fantastic property.
Great to meet owner Nigel who provided lovely local produced foody items, and everything needed to make guests welcome. Super size beds, so comfy. Beautiful, spotlessly clean, stylish house. Lovely well kept garden, with lots of outdoor furniture and space for grandson Oliver to enjoy the fantastic weather we had. Thank you also to Nigel, for providing an inflatable bed for toddler Oliver. Village post office just a short walk away, which provides essentials, very friendly staff tooâ¦.Location great for touring surrounding areas, we visited Salisbury, Stonehenge & Corfe Castle and a little local farm with animals for children to pet. Also great walks close to the house and well equipped childrenâs play park. Thank you again Nigel, for making fabulous memories of our family holiday to Wiltshire. We would definitely recommend this beautiful âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸holiday home. Dee Douglas and family

We stayed at the Shutts house for 21 days and we were very happy to discover that the property is exactly as it's listed with even more information provided by the owner once you arrive.
We were with a dog so the garden was such a huge plus (we just wish the garden was fully surrounded by fence where the parking is). The location of the house was just foot steps away from the beautiful fields of Coombe Bissett which was amazing for walks! The welcome basket was SO spoiling with lots of yummy local goods- Thank you! Nigel was extremely helpful, friendly and hands on anything we asked for (even finding out about local bus routes as we're not from the area). To our surprise on arrival we had a Christmas Tree decorated in the living room and the apartment was festively decorated which was a fun bonus! Over all we're very happy we got a long vacation out in the country in a place we loved to come to back to every day :)
