What our customers say about their holidays

The cottage itself was everything you said it would be in a very quiet and secluded area, an absolutely beautiful setting and the facilities within the cottage itself were very nice.
However, I have to express my satisfaction with your company. I paid you one hell of a lot of money for a three night stay. On Friday and Saturday evening the cottage itself was very very cold. The thermostat doesnât seem to work when you turn it up. All that seems to happen is the temperature flashes and then it states off. I reported to this to you the next morning received an email and then my next response was after I had left the property , open âwas everything okay? â. No it wasnât okay as I say Iâve powered paid you A very large fee for three nights, the least I expect is someone to be responsive to my enquiries. I fully appreciate that it was a bank holiday weekend, but your line of business is the service holiday customers so you need to have coverage every single day. What if the problem was really serious? What would I have done. I have to say this is certainly tainted my view of your company and ever using them in the future. I am seriously thinking about using Airbnb in the future.

We had a great time at The Hollies.
It was well equipped and the kids loved table tennis. The benches at the dining table were a little precarious for the kids (aged 9, 10 and 12) when they tried to pull them closer to the table. One in particular would rock forwards if not careful. A couple of normal chairs would be helpful for ease of use for those of us who are quite arthritic. The round handles on the doors were really tricky to grip and turn for my arthritis - not a complaint, just if we stay there again, I will take some sort of arthritis aid for opening such doors. I would love to see some extra drawer storage in the main bedroom as there were only 3 small drawers and then just hanging space in the wardrobes. Also, the beds are quite high, which is fine, except for the shorties amongst us, itâs a bit of an issue to sit and get socks on, so a chair in each bedroom would be really helpful. The location was great and peaceful. Lovely beaches nearby. Really enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

Well equipped kitchen but some furniture at the end of its life.
The wooden outside furniture is in poor condition and should have been renovated before the season start. The biggest complaint is poor central heating and hot water temperature. The upstairs was 16 degrees in the morning with no means to control the central heating â I suspect this was done remotely by owner. This despite several guest noting this in the guest book. The hot water temperature was also too low â just about hot enough for a shower but not for a bath and to clean greasy dishes etc. I donât expect to be cold when on holiday, itâs unacceptable to not provide central heating or means to control it. The listing for the cottage states it has heated towel rails, again these had been turned off with no means of turning them on. Damp towels and a cold bathroom â not what you want from a holiday let.

As I wrote in the visitors book, this was a nice, adequate holiday home: roomy, light filled and airy.
We enjoyed the garden and spent sunny early evenings around the patio table. We were able to cook light meals on a few nights using the well designed kitchen. However, there were winter weight duvets on all three beds, which makes little sense in the height of summer. The benches around the dining table are unsuitable for anyone beyond their teenage years. We were staying with my 91-year-old mother and were forced to bring folding chairs from home. The bedrooms are spartan in terms of facilities: a chair in each would be helpful. (We all need something to sit on when putting on shoes or to help with changing clothes.) Also, the fridge had a huge build up of ice and needed defrosting. Did this not occur to your house keeper?

Superb cottage, so clean and well appointed.
Beds very comfortable and with good quality linen. Big bath towels ( a rare thing based on our experience of other cottages!). Parking not a problem, even when there were no spaces by the church we managed to park on the road. Might be nice to have a couple of cushions for the outside seats for when the weather is good. Only very minor thing we needed to find a solution for was the gate at the front of the cottage, we had to make sure we tied something round the latch as it wasnât always shutting tightly and our little puppy found it amusing to try and pull the gate open! Other than that we have to say it was a fabulous stay. Thanks you to the owners for taking the time and effort to maintain the high standard.
