What our customers say about their holidays

Very disappointing visit.
Owner was made aware of the issues and to be fair did try to rectify them. Issues were heating was broken ( new thermostat required) the owner did provide us with an electric heater but that only heated one room. Quite how you can charge £500 for a property with no heating is just not on Bedrooms and bathroom was cold. No heating provided for them Oven didnât work it took ages for us the get it on and when we did get it on it smoked the place out. Fire alarms going off, the owner said it was due to a liner in the bottom of the oven ??? we had a microwave/combi which we used but couldnât cook a meal using the oven Fridge froze our shopping we had to dispose of some of the food we bought. After we checked the fridge it was full of ice . Lights were constantly flickering on and off so we ended up sat in the dark. Overall cleanliness wasnât up to much. We had a few spiders in the food cupboard there was hair on the floor. Glasses etc were dusty. Just needed a deep deep clean. On leaving day I stripped the bed and there was daddy long legs under the sheets. Positives were lovely views and the hot tub. Considering what we paid for 5 days I donât think it was good value for money and wouldnât go back. Place needs to be brought up to scratch before itâs rented out again

First thing to say the views from the decking at the rear of the house are gorgeous, the sun rises were glorious and seeing the dolphins leaping was a treat. The house was impeccably clean with all the equipment you could wish for. Although on the main road going to the town/beach etc it's not overly busy so did not disturb sleep and was approx 20 minute walk down the hill to the waterfront. For convenience there is a Costcutter shop close to the house which is well stocked for essentials and a large safe car park slightly further on. There is no direct parking at the house but there is space outside to unload/load your car. The only real downside of the house but can't be helped due to the age of the property is the amount of steps internally, the stairs are quite narrow, curved and have uneven level of steps at the top, only a problem if you are a bit unsteady on your feet. We had a wonderful stay with many an hour playing games, eating meals and gazing at the sea views. We would visit again.

We had a wonderful few days here at Elvor. The cottage is very well equipped with wonderful sea views and an enclosed garden (sun trap). Everything you could need was at the cottage. It was very clean too. We had one really cold day, so the log burner was lovely. The town of New Quay is one of the friendliest and unspoilt places (and dog friendly) and we were made to feel part of the community despite only being on holiday. Lime crab is a must for fish and chips (and crab taco). The Pepper pot is also a lovely place to eat, and the quiz night in the Seahorse pub hilarious. That is one super friendly pub. A wonderful stroll down to the beach on the left of property is wonderful and the beach just gorgeous…we did it at sunrise a few days. I would recommend Elvor and New Quay as a fab place to spend a few days. We will be back.

Listing was inaccurate as bed linen and towels were not provided.
We had to bring our own due to 'Covid precautions'. The blinds in the bedrooms are poorly fitting vertical blinds and don't keep out any light so we woke up very early. It would be easy to change these to better fitting blackout blinds. However, the cabin is beautifully situated with stunning views over the countryside and the layout is very private. The hot tub was fantastic. Inside, it was cosy and very well-equipped in terms of kitchen equipment, white goods and a smart tv with Netflix etc. The shower has plenty of pressure. The setting is truly rural, down a lovely, winding country lane - but only about a mile's walk to the nearest beach. We would definitely return.

Sian is welcoming and friendly.
Everything is all set up prior to arrival and everything is thought of especially in the current situation with Covid-19. The cabin is beautifully presented and has all you would need for any length of break. We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were incredibly impressed with the privacy, the great layout and the amazing peaceful views. The hot tub was lovely, and looking out over the fields to such an incredible backdrop was just what we needed. A couple of great pubs are in easy reach as well a great sandy beach and good walks. We'd thoroughly recommend staying here. It's been brilliant :)
