  The property had a calm, peaceful and relaxing position with amazing views over the marshes from the main room. Lots of birds could be seen especially early evening. The swimming pool was a highlight for our 3 young grandsons ( 5, 2, 8 months) especially as it was heated to a constant 28 degrees. The older 2 had shortie wetsuits and happily played and jumped in and out even in overcast weather. It wasn't cold for adults when entering the pool on a cloudy day. The house was sensible for holidaying with young kids with stone and wooden floors with no carpets. The utility room with the boiler was always warm and efficient at drying swim wear , and the washing machine had a quick cycle although the dryer if needed was slow. The kitchen was functional with most equipment provided as well as a store cupboard with useful extras such as oils, herbs and spices left from previous tenants . The beds were comfortable. There was an easy walk along footpaths to the large sandy beach and a short walk to the local playground and village store.

  Just like being in a Home from Home. We were 6 adults and 3 children and so it was a perfect fit for us, parking for 3 cars. We love this part of Norfolk and our stay was perfect in every way. The sleeping accommodation was excellent, every bed was comfortable and warm. Found the house too warm until we realised that the hall thermostat was set to maximum 30 degrees! so soon remedied. Kitchen very well appointed with all the gadgets we have at home and could wish for. We catered for ourselves as you would expect in Covid times and had no problem preparing even our Christmas Feast, one of us is a Chef and he was completely at home. Huge comfortable lounge over looking the garden, plenty of sofas and chairs to just crash out in. Literally just by the Norfolk Coastal Path so easy to burn off our extra calories too. Fantastic winter retreat, we've decided to try it again for a summer break next. Thank you Ginny & Nick, lovely to have met you.

  We stayed at Appletree Barn this Summer (2023) and it was blissful. For a start the views from this truly historic property, especially the panoramic one across the marches to the sea are simply outstanding - truly breathtaking, and the sunsets are just sublime. The accommodation is bright and airy, the place is equipped with everything you need and everything is geared towards ease and comfort. There is a superb outdoor pool that can be used (the kids loved it) and the cottage is in a terrific position in that it is totally secluded and private (very quiet indeed!), but within a short walk from the legendary beaches and marshes that make this part of Norfolk so very special. The local shop is an easy walk, the brilliant local pub a very short stagger. We plan to return to Appletree Barn in 2024

  Relaxation and Memory making at West Heath. We had a lovely week staying at West Heath in the pretty village of Brancaster Staithe with it's quaint harbour. We enjoyed our family beach adventures at Brancaster with it's large expanse of sand which our Daughter and dogs loved. The coastal walk has stunning views and plenty of wildlife to spot. West Heath has lots of space, privacy and home from home comforts, whether you want to curl up with a book on the sofa's or enjoy a barbecue in the garden. With it's large kitchen and dining area it's a great place to make family memories. We had a very comfortable stay and would love to go back to West Heath and visit the area again to explore some more.

  I stayed at Appletree Barn with my daughter, son in law and their boys over a long weekend in August. We had a terrific time in what must be one of Norfolk’s most comfortable houses. The views over the marsh and out to sea over the golf course as the sun goes down are magical. Even more so when a big tide fills the whole place. Brancaster beach, where we walked the dog every day, is one of the best I have been to in the UK and the village has everything we needed in walking distance. What also helped was the owners, who live next door, are on hand if you need something, but otherwise left us completely alone to enjoy the peace and quiet of the gardens.
