  The Lodge was clean and tidy upon arrival and the beds were were not worn etc. We found that like many holiday cottages the water pressure in the main bathroom shower (not the dedicated shower cubical) was lacking. We have stayed in the holiday park before and while tv reception is poor in any valley, this lodge especially has awful reception, so I would recommend bring some dvds or a laptop to stream from (the tv only allows the netflix app - the i player would not even work). This was not too much of an issue for us as we spent all most of the day out and about until mid to late evening.The facilities on site are very good, the indoor swimming pool is booked online and as such you actually can have some great swims without being completely crowded out of the pool. The only draw back to the holiday park is the parking. There is clear notices in the welcome pack for the lodge stating that you should have one car down at the property and if you have a second car to park it at the top of the hill in the car park. However, it is not monitored, and we found most evenings we were unable to park as there were already 4 cars parked in the spaces for 3 lodges, meaning second cars were being parked outside the lodges. This would not have been too big an issue, but one of our party is disabled and it was both painful and dangerous for them to get up and down the hill night after night. This is something that the park itself needs to address, rather then the individual owner.

  Wonderful Stay at Una Villa 82 – Highly RecommendedWe’ve just returned from an unforgettable week at Una Villa 82 and I can’t recommend it highly enough!The villa was absolutely perfect for our family of five and our dog, Dolly. Spacious, immaculate, and equipped with everything we needed, it truly felt like a home away from home. We were even spoiled with a hot tub, which was a lovely addition to our stay.The attention to detail was impressive – all the often-overlooked amenities like fresh towels, bedding, tea, coffee, and even tea towels were thoughtfully provided. These small touches made a big difference and contributed to the comfort and enjoyment of our stay.The on-site facilities were excellent, including both an indoor and outdoor pool, a gym, and a spa. We made great use of them throughout the week. The complex itself is peaceful, well-maintained, and offers a real sense of privacy, creating the perfect environment to unwind and connect as a family.The location was ideal, with Carbis Bay beach just a short distance away. We enjoyed a scenic train journey and coastal walk to St Ives, which is full of charm. There are plenty of other lovely places to explore in the area, including Hayle, which offers its own attractions.We’re already looking forward to our next visit – we can’t wait to return!

  Mermaid Cottage is in a superb setting along the cliffs at Port Mellon. It is superbly located with great views and close enough to the typical Cornish harbour town of Mervagissey. There are positives and negatives about the accommodation. The beds are comfortable and clean, and the kitchen self catering facilities are well equipped. The views are stunning and the terrace at the back facing the sea is a great spot to gaze at the beauty of the bay. The property, however, is in need of updating and refreshing. The sofas in the living room are particularly uncomfortable and old, so badly need replacing. We were not impressed with overall cleanliness with dog hairs (and canine odour) noticeable and spiders webs in places suggested that pre-arrival cleaning had not been very thorough. There was no "welcome pack" as advertised and the information on the property was minimal. Tom was very helpful, however, and came to help get the TV going promptly. One warning for the elderly; the stairs to the bedrooms to the bathroom are very steep and the property won't suit those who are infirm or unsteady on their feet. Overall we enjoyed the stay and found the property location great. Several previous reviews have made similar points to our reviews and so the owners should take notice and address the concerns.

  I would highly recommend Trelawney Bungalow. The location and home are both absolutely beautiful, the welcome pack was very informative and we had even been left plenty of essentials for the duration of our stay. We all thoroughly enjoyed all of the family games available to us in the garage, the decor is welcoming and cosy, and the views from the property are stunning. Megan, the owner, came and checked in with us during our stay, ensuring we settled in well, recommending things to do locally, and was always at the other end of the phone should we have needed anything. Unfortunately our car broke down on the third day of our 7 day break, and when we still didnt have it back towards the end of the week Megan was so helpful in offering us extra nights stay. This meant a lot to us and eased stress knowing the option was there if necessary and we wouldnt have to find alternative accommodation so far from home. Luckily our vehicle was fixed just in time to check out, but we were all honestly gutted to be going home. We truly felt at home from home. I look forward to returning, hopefully in the warmer months to enjoy the bbq and large outdoor space! Megan, thank you again for being a wonderful host, making our first time in Cornwall one to remember, and going above and beyond for our family. X

  We’ve stayed at No Place before in 2024 and loved it. It merited a five-star review then, so we booked again for this year. The pool and hot tub were great, but there was a significant change in the cottage itself. The standard of cleaning was barely adequate, bed sheets were dirty and there was black mould in both showers, and damp and mould on the wall in one bedroom. The floor in one bedroom seemed, in places, to be on the verge of collapse. The range cooker top was filthy, as was the kitchen bin. The thatch on the cottage is falling to pieces and this might explain why on most nights we were repeatedly disturbed by what sounded like numbers of rats in the roof space gnawing, digging and running about. We got so little sleep that we left a day early. So while the pool and hot tub are great, in our opinion the cottage is not clean enough to merit staying in. We’ve messaged the owner about these issues but have not had any reply, and hope they will be rectified for future guests. As things stand we could not recommend No Place despite its location and amenities and have no plans to book it again unless standards return to the levels we had in 2024 and the mould and rat problems (as well as the dilapidated thatch) are dealt with.
