What our customers say about their holidays

The location was idyllic in the country.
Reminded me of my life as a child. Ground floor a little claustrophobic but comfortable. The stone floor could do with a deep clean. The bedrooms and bathroom were nice and cosy. The only gripe about the bathroom is the floor again could do with a deep clean. The property is well furnished and well equipped. We feel that the water temperature from the âhotâ taps are scalding and could injure a child. The attached barns have some lovely wildlife. An Owl box in one barn and swallows in nests in another. Our dog and I saw the Barn Owl at 6.30am sat on a fence post only yards away in the lovely Orchard. It then flew off to a nearby tree. That Owl, the swallows and a Wren telling off our dog made the short break. Will definitely use Sykes again. Note: Please notify owner re Hot Water and deep cleaning of stone floor and bathroom floor. That said it was a lovely break away

This was our second visit to South Boduel Farmhouse.
We needed a big space for 8 adults, a three year old and baby and this place is ideal. The large kitchen had everything we required and there was plenty of seating in the living room. The utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer came in useful. Our grand daughter loved seeing the farmer arriving on the tractor every morning, to bring hay to the cows that we could see right outside the living room windows. We walked down the country lanes to view Coombe Junction on the Liskeard - Looe railway and see what was left of the canal alongside it. Also walked to Liskeard via Moorswater, which takes about 40 minutes. Went to Liskeard swimming pool with the children and had two trips to The Eden Project. There was problem with the shower plumbing to start with, but the owner Alex kept us informed and it was soon resolved. Looking forward to coming back before too long.

We had a brilliant stay at the farmhouse, just what we needed to all get together and relax over the new years break.
Lots of parking, beautiful quiet surroundings, everything perfectly clean and looked even better than the photos! We'd definitely stay again. The only problems we had were with the plumbing, where the main drainage pipe from the kitchen sink/dishwasher/food disposal blocked. I think removing the food disposal would save guest and the hosts a bit of bother. We ended up having to wash dishes in the utility room, and when I contacted the help number I heard nothing back until we had left. But this was at 6ish on a bank holiday, so I'm not too surprised. I think leaving a plunger somewhere on the property would be great so we could have dealt with it ourselves. There was also water gushing onto the backdoor from the guttering which'll cause some problems down the line if it's not dealt with, and the chimney in the downstairs bedroom leaked with the heavy rain.

All in all we had a lovely stay at the Farm House.
We had 10 of us staying and on day 2 had a problem with one of the two showers. The owner eas great and a plumber came out and couldnt fins a major issue. It meant for the rest of the holiday we could only run one shower at a time as when both were run the pressure dropped to a trickle of water. There must be ashower pump issue. When we arrived, there were thick cobwebs around most of the windows and it just didnt seem 100% clean. Im guessing we were the first guests for a while. Whilst it didnt cause us any issues, it may be worth chekcing if housekeeping actually cleaned before we entered for future reference. All in all a lovely property, very quiet, very spacious and we enjoyed our 5 nights.

My family and I,9 of us, had a wonderful stay here.
We mainly used the house as a base whilst we explored the typically tourist parts of Cornwall. However, we would have easily felt at home had we wanted a restful break. Everything we could have needed was inside with so much space. The kids fell in love with the cows and spent most of their time talking to them over the wall getting to know their characters. Welcome book worth noting when you first arrive with useful info to help you get settled in around the house, we couldn't see how to work the heating though and have since contacted the owner. The wood burner made us feel cosy! Ensuite shower was lovely, super king bed was so comfy. Perfect rural retreat.
