What our customers say about their holidays
Sophie - Verified booking
Penny Liggan was a spacious holiday rental, with amble parking and good outdoor space for our dog.
However the house felt run down and very out dated with exception of the kitchen which had been refitted. The kitchen taps would make a horrendous noise every time someone used the shower/taps from their bathrooms (we worked out they werenât screwed on tightly enough). The SKY TV didnât work, they only provided terrestrial channels as they didnât have a subscription, they just provide a sky box, which would ordinarily be fine if the TV was smart and would allow us to log in to our Netflix / Amazon accounts but it wasnât, so for future holidaymakers, bring an HDMI cable and a laptop that you can plug in to be able to watch content on demand, otherwise you will be watching either live terrestrial television or old DVDs (we recommend Enemy at the Gate from the collection). My parents had the large double bedroom, auntie in the 2nd double bedroom and my husband and I in the twin bedroom. The twin had a broken chest of drawers which was difficult to open and no wardrobe, it felt damp in there also. Something also to bear in mind was that the property looked directly onto St Enodocâs golf course, which is cool, until you realise you donât have a huge amount of privacy because they can look in on you in 3 of the bedrooms and the living room. The outdoor space was nice, we sat out on the chairs often, we didnât use the BBQ as we didnât have reason to. If you like us are keen body boarders in Cornwall, be aware there are no outdoor showers and no dedicated drying space for wetsuits. There is a laundry room but one of the cupboards is locked (standard) but the other cupboard isnât suitable for wetsuits. The roof light in the painted red downstairs toilet leaks, so if itâs raining you will get wet whilst doing your business. The kitchen is space is lovely with a large table for everyone to have space to eat at and a separate fridge freezer allowing us to store enough food for the week, however all the pans bar two are non-induction compatible so do not work on the hob, so with a party of 8 people, trying to feed everyone with 2 small pans is not ideal. We had a lovely time at Penny Liggan which had a fantastic location and would return but be more prepared next time and would hope some of the issues would have been remedied.

We have been traveling to Cornwall for over 30 years, and we are delighted to say that Nappers Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in, it is absolutely beautiful throughout.
It is so comfortable to return back to in the evenings in order to relax and unwind after a busy day out sight seeing. The lounge and dinning rooms are very large/spacious, and even though there was only myself and my husband staying with out little dogs, there would be plenty of room for a full family to enjoy without living on top of each other. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have seen, with an extensive range of pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc, there is a large fridge freezer for all your provisions, and an extensive selection of dogs bowls etc, Steve has organised everything beautifully and though of everything that you might need. The bedrooms are spacious, with lovely bedding, and the beds are so comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is very large with an amazing large bath tub, and large separate shower cubicle. There is a large front garden which is shingled, and a patio back garden with tables and chairs. There is also plenty of parking outside on the roads, which were quiet for the majority of the time, with only the occasional car passing, so a very quiet location. Steve the owner was so helpful and always on hand if we needed anything, very easy and quick to contact/respond if required. We would not hesitate to return again, and or recommend to family and friends, what an absolutely lovely stay at Nappers cottage.

We love Southern Halt and would visit again but 3 Horizon View is very tired & worn.
We wouldn't book this property again. One of the sofa's has a very old, musty smell to it and looks so uninviting and it was uncomfortable. The bed had a throw on it which I had to wash and dry as this all smelt old & musty. Like it had never been washed. Once it was dry this was used to cover the sofa. The bedding had a few marks on it and we couldn't sleep due to the smell of bleach being so strong. There where no instructions (that I could see) for the dishwasher so we was unsure of which setting to use for the quickest wash. The sky light blind in the master bedroom wouldn't stay shut and would open on its own at all hours. That skylight also leaked meaning we heard dripping throughout the night. The skylight is moldy as are the curtains in the living room. The hoover was useless, not much suction and the end wouldn't stay on. Broken door in the hall to the cupboard, kept opening despite us using the inside lock. The hot tub and surrounding outside areas are amazing and it's a beautiful place. Would 100% book again but will chose a better more suited lodge.

We had an absolutely fabulous time, it was so peaceful and the views were incredible!
The photos really didnât do it justice! The hot tub was taken care of everyday so that we could get into a clean one at our pleasure. Itâs a very quiet site so nothing disturbed us. The toilet had a big leak but they came out immediately to fix it so no problems there. The cushions on the sofa were very mucky but it really didnât bother us, we didnât spend much time sat down, itâs more of a heads up for your next people. The blinds had something splashed all down them but again it didnât bother us but someone is bound to complain in the future so just a heads up! Itâs a huge lodge, plenty of space! The only thing I would change is to section off the garden bit properly leading out to the fence so that people canât walk past looking in and invading your privacy whilst using the hot tub which we experienced, and the very noisy bedsheets every time you move

We loved staying at nappers cottage .
The cottage is spacious and modern and beautifully decorated. The host even provided washing capsules ,liquid ,handwash and toilet rolls .. tea coffe milk and even Cornish crackers ! which was a godsend after a long drive so we didn't have to rush to the shops . The beds are comfy and we slept really well . Lovely hot shower and a bath if you need a soak ! The kitchen is well equipped for everything you need . We caught the bus to st Ives just at the top of the road and was only £10 for a roaming family day ticket. We did walk to the beach too - across the nature reserve which was lovely . The cottage is ideally situated to explore that end of Cornwall - we only had @30 min drive either way to porthcurno and kynance . Parking outside the cottage wasn't an issue either . Thank you for an amazing week - can't recommend nappers cottage enough ! :)
