A stunning cottage set in an idyllic rural location, very close to the friendly village of Dulverton. The cottage itself is perfect. It's peaceful, private and very cosy with underfloor heating and an attractive fireplace. We found it to be a home away from home, with everything you could need-the kitchen was especially well-equipped. It's also worth mentioning the beautiful views and large modern bath. We greatly appreciated the goodies left for us, although sadly couldn't use the doggy treats as our dog has a yeast allergy among other dietary issues so can't eat doggy biscuits. We very much enjoyed the scones, clotted cream, jam and prosecco ourselves and thought it was a lovely touch! 😊 We were busy exploring during the day times and found the cottage to be the perfect central hub for that. We recommend walks from Tarr Steps to Withypool where there is a lovely pub, The Valley of the Rocks and Watersmeet; we know there are also many fantastic walks straight from the door should you want to stick closer to “home”. You don't have to go far to see the special (now endangered) Exmoor ponies either. I was very pleased to see them as many years ago my first pony was a native Exmoor pony, Oscar. There are many great dining options and we enjoyed dinner at The Bridge Inn and Woods, both of which were excellent choices food-wise and very welcoming and accommodating to us and our large dog. We also enjoyed a Thai takeaway one evening from Tongdam - totally unexpected to find a good Thai restaurant in Dulverton but we recommend that for a carefree no cooking night indoors. We wanted to enjoy the cottage of an evening as it was such a lovely space to be in. We really hope to be back again and really couldn't fault our stay. Thank you to Ali and Jeff for a wonderful mini holiday.

Ali and Jeff are very helpful and welcoming, made us feel right at home with a welcome plate of mince pies, prosecco and the very effective gas wood burner style heater turned on! My husband and I took our dog and both our mums with us as the bedrooms accessible by just 6 steps and bathroom right outside were suitable for their needs. We enjoyed the top floor bedroom and it was amazing watching the sunrise sat up in bed with a coffee and watching the horses roll around in the fields opposite, a truly magical way to wake up. The ponds waterfall is soothing to hear and my husband who is a keen wildlife photographer was blessed with a sighting of the kingfisher on our last morning. The kitchen had literally everything I needed to create a Christmas and boxing day feast for 4 and it was all super clean and well cared for. My husband and I would love to return in the summer for rambling and photography!

What a fabulous, beautiful, relaxing cottage to stay in, with the most amazing, friendly and helpful hosts you could imagine. From the moment we booked, to the moment we left, Ali and Jeff made us feel so welcome and at ease in The Piggery. The cottage itself is of a high standard. Extremely well maintained and cleaned, and they have provided lovely toiletries which smell divine, along with very decent bedding and towels. It was a very comfortable, home-from-home stay, for a wonderful 5 days of exploring the beautiful Exmoor National Park and surrounding areas. Being on the farm had its perks too - it was lovely to see the horses coming in and out of their stables every day, and we were fortunate to be there when the farriers were there, doing their thing! And as for the dogs, what can I say?! My daughter fell in love with them all, especially the new addition too! We miss it all so much and it was very sad to leave, but we are hoping to come back very soon!

Easy to find the cottage is located in a traditional farmyard setting, surrounded by the rolling greens of unspoilt countryside, quiet and big skies. The cottage is a lovely contemporary conversion and has everything you could need for a stay. Excellent walks and stunning views surround you and at this time of year the entire place feels alive with wildlife. Nature is literally on the doorstep from steep fern & foxglove covered lanes to deer, hares, pheasants and more. The location is a bird lovers dream for both watching and listening. Ali is charming and her family (equine, dogs and humans) all friendly, welcoming and helpful. So for us a long weekend with some sun, dogs, horses, nature, great cycling, peace and quiet, fabulous walks, great fish and chips nearby, games and some champagne was what we consider quality family time in a special place. Thank you Ali/Jeff x

Ali's place is a little slice of heaven, we absolutely loved staying here. I came here with my wife, daughter and our cavapoo Lilo. The place is a bit difficult to find... I used the app what3words which took me to the place exactly. Ali had left a welcome pack (which we really appreciated) including a bottle of prosecco, milk, scones fresh cream and jam and popped over later to introduce herself and say hello. Ali's place is really lovely, very clean and so comfortable with a lovely sitting room, a kitchen, 3 bedrooms and parking. The recommendations for restaurants and bars that Ali gave were excellent and she was flexible with our check-out. Ali is a great host, has a great place to stay and I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of normal life.
