  A lovely stay in a charming character cottage.

  Very clean, kitchen fabulously equipped. If you really do like to self cater you will love the oven! Host very helpful. Garden whilst small is a sun trap with table & chairs on decking, does have a few steps. Our greyhound loved basking in the morning sun! Some lovely roses, also squirrel's & birds a plenty. Bed was huge! I think we were sleeping in different postcodes! Very comfortable & pillows also comfortable, ensuring a good nights sleep. A very short doorstep walk to a dog friendly meadow & literally a moments walk to town (although it feels like a world away at the cottage), a dog friendly town where there are some great eateries & gift shops. Super peaceful location in a charming old market town with all you need within a 5 min walk. Wirskworth Town is charming & everyone welcoming & friendly. Walks in abundance around so need to travel, just be ready for the hills! Scenery is just about as good as it gets! Matlock a short journey by car which is simply breathtaking & beautiful, also so many memorable places to visit within a 30min to hours drive. So glad we booked Cutlers Cottage & stayed in Wirksworth/Derbyshire. Will be a repeat holiday destination without doubt! Loved it!

  Cutlers Cottage is an absolute delight and a credit to the owners.

  It is in a lovely peaceful location 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wirksworth. The property is a real home from home and has everything you need for your stay and more. The kitchen is fantastic with a beautiful range style cooker, full sized fridge freezer and washing machine. There is everything you need to self cater during your stay. The lounge area is comfortable and nicely furnished but the creme de la creme has to be the beautiful super king size bed in the main bedroom. I have just had the best weeks sleep I've had in years. The cottage and Wirksworth make an ideal base for exploring. 5-10 minutes drive from Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham and within easy reach of Bakewell, Ashbourne, Chatsworth House and Chesterfield. Wirksworth itself is historically interesting and there is everything you need here for your stay. Pubs, restaurants, takeaways, grocery shops and everything else in between. We had a lovely time and the dog particularly liked the meadow a few minutes walk from the cottage. All in all a fantastic week away. Thank you.

  Fabulous! What a find!

  This is a real treasure, a beautiful modern cottage very well equipped. We spent a week here including Christmas. We were warm and comfortable and the hosts were available if we had needed anything. A beautiful Christmas wreath was on the front door and some very tasteful Christmas Christmas decorations inside. When opening the front door it was like stepping inside a page of 'House Beautiful' . The situation of the cottage is idyllic, beautiful views with stupendous sunrise and sunsets. A short walk across the old golf course (now in the process of being turned into a nature reserve by the National Trust) leads to the promenade and of course the sea!! Wonderful!   Cutlers cottage is positioned down an alley 30m from Wirksworth high street.

  Lovely homely cottage with underfloor heating downstairs which made it feel cosy. Log burner too but we didn't use it. Stable door to back, enclosed, sunny rear garden. Well equipped kitchen with a fantastic cooker which I enjoyed cooking a roast in on the Sunday. Very clean with milk and biscuits left and also the nice touch of fresh flowers. Fresh clean sheets, towels and tea towels. Huge,extremely comfortable bed. Even dog towels and bowls were left. It was a joy to come back to after a day out walking the lovely Peaks. Plenty of walking straight from property with lots of choice of places to eat and drink in Wirksworth itself. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely cottage.   I felt at home from the moment I opened the door.

  The cottage was warm, inviting and comfortable. It had a real homely feel and we felt chilled and relaxed for the whole of our stay. The parking wasn’t an issue as we were able to part quite near to offload and found a space behind the pub for overnight. The town though quiet busy with traffic has a good array of shops and the little off street passageway to the cottage was quiet. Booked last minute we had a lovely stay and enjoyed exploring the local area. The people were really friendly and my only regret was that we had only booked 4 midweek nights so didn’t get to experience more. A genuine value for money last minute break in a cottage that was a real home from home. Thank you!
