  Location was lovely: so close to marshes/beach and beautiful views from inside. Property was as described with bedding & towels provided, and a nice space to spend the time. Enclosed garden area great for young dog. Kitchen well stocked (besides lack of freezer) and hosts provided 1 dishwasher tablet/day of stay. Beds were comfortable and extra blankets provided. Heating was set to automatic and property was a comfortable temperature. Hosts weren't very communicative - I had to message on the day of checkin and how to access property. Had to ask multiple times over different days for instructions on where to park - these were unclear (said space for two vehicles, then changed their mind and said definitely only space for one, but could share alternative parking arrangements if needed - then I had to then ask multiple times for this). Wondered if I was talking to a chatbot at one point as didn't feel questions were answered. A freezer in kitchen/within fridge would've been nice - we'd done a shop en route and were then surprised. Also we ran out of toilet paper & hand soap - not end of world but had to buy more of these things & we only stayed for 3 nights. Bathroom could have been better ventilated (towel/bath mat smelled damp for duration), and flush not very powerful...

  Great location for views and access to the coast. Modern, spacious and well equipped property. Well maintained, clean and tidy. It was cold inside on arrival. The radiators were cold to touch. First attempt at activating the heating failed. The thermostat was set at 22 and would not respond to an increase. We did follow the instructions in the welcome folder and made several failed attempts at turning the thermostat up. We had to contact host and stay who put us on to the emergency engineer. He asked a series of questions which didn’t help to resolve the issue. The engineer contacted the property owner who he said can control the heating system remotely! We ended up sending and receiving several text messages from host and stay. It was insulting to be told that we have to allow the place to warm up. It was not going to if the radiators were cold. The owner could see that the thermostat is set to 22 and appears to think that this is acceptable!. After several messages, the property owner asked what we would like the thermostat to be set to!!By this time I had put the oven on to warm up the ground floor space!!!! The property owner did increase the thermostat but it defaulted to 22 the next day and so I had to message again!!!

  The location of this property is very good. Salthouse is a really sweet place and is within easy distance of lots of coastal places. The instructions to get into the property aren’t clear as it wasn’t specified which lock box to use. There are two. One on the left looks like a lock box. But this isn’t the correct one. One on the right looks like a socket cover but is the lock box. This isn’t specified, this left us thinking the code was wrong, sat outside trying to call the company (with limited signal making it a task) to try to get in. After around an hour they reached the housekeeper who said there were two and it was the one on the right. This should definitely be communicated in check in instructions. House clean and tidy. Take your own salt, pepper, oil. (There is some there but grinders don’t really work). Quiet close though and nice to have sea views and be within walking distance of the coast and a pub and cafe and fantastic fish shop - crab royal salad a must!

  I stayed at this property in August and, unfortunately, discovered bedbugs during my visit. After 1 night, we started noticing itchy bites and found clear signs of bedbugs in the bedding (videos and pictures of bedbugs and bites as proof). This was extremely distressing and significantly affected my experience, as we were up at 4am and left the property swiftly after (a whole day/night early). Positives: Lovely location. Issues: Bedbugs: The most significant problem was the discovery of bedbugs. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. I reported it to the host, but was met with utter disdain and an inability to show empathy for our experience. We haven’t even received an apology! Cleanliness: I expected a higher standard of cleanliness, especially for the price. Response from host unsatisfactory: A despicable offer of 1 night refund (the night we didn’t actually stay there as we came home early!)

  Albert Cottage is in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from the Market Place but also very quiet. It's a very pretty, double-fronted flint-faced cottage which has nicely decorated, good-sized rooms. It's also full of light, which we liked very much. The stairs are quite steep, with a narrow tread so they have to be negotiated with care, but there are wooden hand rails on each side. Overall, we liked the cottage very much. However, a significant drawback for us was the parking situation. There is one dedicated parking space in a niche beside the kitchen. We read the information about the size of the space and the importance of not blocking the shared driveway before booking. As we have a smail car (in the 'supermini' class) we thought it would be fine but getting in and out of the space was tricky with not a lot of room for manoeuvre.
