What our customers say about their holidays

We absolutely loved our stay in this fantastically well equipped, super clean & comfortable lodge.
It was pure luxury throughout. The owner is terrific, a lovely lady, happy to help & sort any issues, just a phone call away. The lodge & gorgeous hot tub are south facing, so benefit from sunshine for the entire day. It is set on a quiet avenue away from the main park, offering both privacy and seclusion. The lake view is simply breathtaking, donât be fooled by the map view of a little pond, it is huge & gorgeous, glittering in the sunshine, we could never tire of it. There are an abundance of birds and wildlife. We were blessed with visits from otters, ducks, geese, moorhens, cormorants, terns & a delightful resident swan family with 3 cygnets who adopted us with hourly visits during our stay. â¤ï¸ South Lakeland is an excellent location to explore Lancashire, Cumbria & the Lakes. You can be on Windermere in just 25 minutes. We genuinely had to tear ourselves away from this beautiful lodge, it is by far the best we have ever stayed in & cannot wait to return.

The accommodation was exceptional.
In fact the pictures when I looked before booking are the main thing that made us book but when we arrived the site and the lodge were far better than we could have imagined. I thought that we may have to travel some distance to see the sights. I have never been to the lakes before and could not have wished to be in a better location. It was literally a half hour drive to Windermere and less than an hour to Ullswater and the views we encountered while getting to these places were absolutely stunning and phenomenal. The restaurant and bar on site were brilliant and the staff were so friendly at all times. Food was exceptional too. The supermarkets were only a couple of miles away and Tesco did deliver on site. I will definitely be coming back with my family in the very near future and have already recommended to other family and friends. Thankyou all for making our stay a very memorable one for all of the right reasons. Many thanks Karen Probert

When we initially arrived at the lodge it looked immaculate and had a lovely cosy atmosphere.
However not long after we all noticed there were cobwebs and dust around the rooms and a lot of the dishes we had to rewash, this could be due to previous people staying not washing dishes properly. The atmosphere at the lodge is definitely nice and cosy but I think some things should be stated on the listing such as hot tub time limits, we were not aware that the hot tub could only be used between 10am and 10pm; Iâve stayed at many places and never had this time limit on a hot tub before and if I knew there was one I probably wouldnât have booked. We also noticed some nosey neighbours whilst being in the hot tub which was quite off putting. The view of the lake was really beautiful as well as some of the walks around the area. Over all it was a lovely lodge but due to some of the drawbacks I wonât be booking here again.

WOW!!!
The lodge is beautiful, very clean and modern and looking over the lake. Tracey the owner has thought of all the little details, thereâs a basket with dog bits in (treats, toys, poo bags) dog bowls, a basket with games to play and separate towels to use for the hot tub. The only thing I could suggest is hooks in the bathrooms to hang towers on as the heated towel rails got full quickly but thatâs my personal preference. The space is great, with a nice size kitchen to cook in. The kids loved that there was a telly in each room, so they could both watch what they wanted. The site that the lodge is on is nice and clean, has a lovely restaurant and you can get a family day pass for £20 to go in the pool and use the gym. All in all we had a lovely time and we will definitely be booking to stay in Gerrida Lodge again!!

What a fantastic holiday home.
We loved it so much we didn't leave the house for 2 days !! Chilling in the hot tub, a game of table tennis and pool plus the arcade machine for hubbie. Little extras like milk in the fridge, biscuits, tea and coffee sachets left for guests, gives that extra special touch. Lovely quiet area, yet only a 5 minute walk to shops, micro pubs, beach, arcades, banks and more. The conservatory, we nicknamed the sun room, as was so light, warm and cosy with blankets to curl up if needed. The under stairs toilet a godsend for myself being disabled, which we jokingly called it the "Harry Potter toilet". Paul called us on our day of arrival to ensure we had he phone number in case we needed him and on the day of departure to thank us for staying. 100% would recommend this property and this owner.
