What our customers say about their holidays

This cottage has the potential to be exceptional.
It's very dark and cosy, which for December was great. It's tucked away without a drive, but we found the on road parking to be absolutely fine. We really enjoyed reading about the property's history, which was included as part of the welcome information. We appreciated the firewood for the first fire, and the sparkling wine in the fridge was a nice touch. There is a well stocked Spar down the road, and it is very close to some stunning beach walks. Communication with the owner was great when we couldn't find the immersion switch for the hot water - friendly and very helpful. If you are considering this cottage, though, know that you will need to bring *everything* with you. There was one toilet roll, one tea towel, one bin liner for the small kitchen bin, no hand soap, no hair dryer (not great to discover that right before a brisk beach walk in December!), no heater in either of the bedrooms. The single tea towel quickly became smelly because there is no central heating so therefore no radiator to dry it on. Many holiday lets we have stayed in have everything you need to make it a home from home - this isn't one of those properties, so just bear that in mind. Finally, for dog owners: the garden is not connected to the cottage. It is totally separate, so letting your dog out for a wee before bed or in the middle of the night isn't an option - you'll need to put their lead on and take them out. Overall a very cosy cottage full of character and history, it just needs a bit more attention to detail.

A few niggles but comfortable.
Once we worked out how to put the radiators on, it was a warm, spacious and comfortable place, well equipped in the kitchen (although a wooden spoon and full-size cafetiere would have been useful). The niggles didn't affect us overly after the first night: - Internet access was slow (about 1Mbit/sec) and unreliable - we're used to it but many people won't be. - The louvres on the outside of the two bathroom extractor fans clattered in the wind so we had to tape them up overnight so my wife could actually get to sleep in the main bedroom. - The twins beds weren't particularly comfortable but apparently the double was better. - The heating wasn't on when we arrived and we couldn't figure it out until we eventually found the manual the next morning after a rather cold night. (We arrived late and wanted to go straight to bed.) - There were no general instructions for what to do with rubbish & recycling, when to put it out, etc (We did find a bin outside at the end of our stay, though.) A summary for using the heating would also have been useful. - It would have been helpful if the listing had said that the place was in Ceidio rather than Morfa Nefyn. (Yes, I know that you can look at the map but still ...)

Porth Penwaig is a lovely place to stay.
The cottage is fully equipped, all kitchen utensils , bedding & even a picnic basket is supplied. It was spotlessly clean & the view is just breathtaking. The location was perfect for us, we have a 5yo daughter & a small dog. It was situated in a quiet coldesac, but walking distance to the beach. We walked the local coastal paths & climbed up one of the mountains. The Cliffs pub just up in Morfa serves delicious food. There is a pool table there which entertained our daughter for an evening when we popped in for a drink. This is a perfect stay if you are wanting to relax & recharge. On a rainy day we drove to a bowling alley which was approx 20mins away. Caernarfon & Portmadog are approx 30-40min drive for a change of scenery. The hosts do live next door & the lady was very friendly. There's nothing negative to say , thankyou for a lovely stay :)

We have had yet another great holiday on the Llyn.
A holiday made even better by the beautiful accommodation. Porth Penwaig is a warm, comfortable and very nicely decorated cottage with all the mod cons. More than that though, the views from the cottage are second to none. Thereâs nothing better than waking up to a sea view and knowing that youâre only a 5 minute walk from the beach. In addition, the hosts are welcoming and helpful. This site was perfect for us as we love long walks along the beach and coastal paths. As it got dark, it was nice knowing that we were going back to a warm place where we could prepare and cook a warming meal. The beds were comfortable too, so we were able to get a good nights sleep. We will definitely be booking again. Loved this placed.

We had a great 5 night stay at Normandy.
Sharon met us on arrival and was really helpful, informative and friendly. Normandy was exceptionally clean and well maintained with everything you could need for a stay including every kitchen utensil you could think of, guide books, recommended eating places and, just as important, a really secure back garden for our terrier to roam in the mornings! The beds, in particular, are really comfortable! Nefyn is a lovely destination and the local beach is beautiful with the local brewery and community owned pub well worth a visit if you fancy some "real ale". Thank you for a great stay and we will definitely book again. Would thoroughly recommend.
