This quiet corner of the Lakes is ideal not only for walking, but also cycling along quiet country lanes and relaxing in tranquil surroundings. If you like to be away from people and like the idea of sheep and horses as your neighbour, this place is perfect, about 5 miles away from the A66 down a few narrow lanes, but its worth it for the peace and quiet :)

Absolutely brilliant week's holiday. Crofthead was a real home from home, comfortable, clean and those amazing views. So much to go and do each day or just relax at "home" and enjoy the surroundings. We are definitely returning.
