About this property

Settled close to Northumberland National Park in the charming village of Longframlington, Northumberland is The Bungalow. This wonderful, dog-friendly property benefits from off-road parking, a close proximity to the village’s local amenities and a stylish, contemporary interior welcoming six guests and two of their beloved canine companions. Enter into your new home-from-home and head straight into the sleek kitchen/diner to help rustle up a hearty meal for the whole group to enjoy upon the dining table. Tuck in and plan your itinerary for the rest of the trip before travelling into the sitting room where you can sink into the plush sofa in front of the warmth of the electric flame-effect fire ready for a movie night with tasty treats on the Smart TV.

When yawning begins, wash off the day in the bathroom fitted with a bath and shower before choosing from three well appointed bedrooms to catch your rest; there is a king-size, double and a twin. The bungalow lies paces away from local stores where you can stock up on essentials to help ease your self-catered stay and pubs including The Granby Inn which serves delicious food; perfect for the nights when you don’t fancy cooking! History enthusiasts can delight in the wealth of history woven throughout the county; explore Brinkburn Priory and Manor House, the National Trust Site of Cragside which was once the home of a Victorian inventor or Edlingham Castle, the riverside ruins of a spectacular 14th century manor house.

Continue the historic excursion in the characterful town of Alnwick where you can traverse the breath-taking Alnwick Castle, which is more recently famous for being a filming location in the Harry Potter franchise or tour the Bailiffgate Museum. Guests can also marvel at the floral collection in Alnwick Garden which houses a deadly secret, The Poison Garden, which runs tours through its unique collection of lethal plants. The Coast is also within reach at Alnmouth, Amble and Warkworth, Explore the wonders hidden Northumberland’s countryside and along its coast at The Bungalow.

Located between the Cheviots and the coast, Longframlington is a small village in rural Northumberland that offers easy access to numerous scenic hiking trails. The Augustinian priory at Brinkburn, which has been restored, is located in a beautiful setting next to the River Coquet and is a pleasant drive away. The Cragside House and Gardens, cared for by the National Trust, are only a short drive to the west, while the Heritage Coast, with its miles of pristine beaches, can be easily reached. A short 11 miles to the north is the historic town of Alnwick, which is well worth a visit thanks to its beautiful Castle and Garden. This is an excellent starting point for exploring Northumberland or just getting away for a while, what with the beautiful National Park being so close by.

Suggest lock on bathroom door. The beds and bedding were fabulously comfortable. A very comfortable and well furnished property, which I'd return to. Especially pleased with the small, fenced area which allowed my old dog to enjoy the grass and open air safely.

Fantastic butchers next door and two welcomng pubs with excellent food 50 yards in either direction. Very dog friendly and secure, with a fenced off garden area and large yard that is safe for larger dogs once the gates are shut (smaller dogs might squeeze under the gates and it's then right onto the main road). We had a lovely stay here and will definitely be back!

The cottage was everything and more, the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Great village and location for visiting local beaches and woodland with our dog. I definitely recommend The Village Inn pub for food with the produce locally sourced from the butcher’s next door to the cottage. We paid a visit to the butcher’s to stock up before heading home. Beautiful cottage thanks for letting us stay.
