St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony’s Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. There is a selection of pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance, as well as a range of shops including Post Office, butchers, chemist, art, book and clothes shops. Beach ½ mile.

All the beds were very uncomfortable and of very poor quality or very oldThe radiator in the main bedroom didn’t work - and this was mentioned in the house book - with a suggested workaround to turn off and on other radiators This is clearly a known problem and should be properly fixed

Whitestones is a great house at the top of the hill in St MawesThe living spaces were light and well arranged although the lounge furniture was a little datedThe bedrooms and bathrooms were all good - plenty of hot water when needed. The patio worked well off the kitchen. Not really any other outside space but that suited us

My sons and I really enjoyed our stay at Whitestones in St Mawes, the house was very clean with lots of utensils for cooking and a great deck.St Mawes is an excellent location with lots happening in the harbour and the ferry over to Falmouth where we hired a boat to explore the estuary. The bathrooms we all good as were the bedrooms with very comfortable beds and plenty of towels.Slight niggles were that I was give the wrong key code, the phone umber to call the owners didn't work and the bbq was locked away in the garage.
