About this property

Sitting in the heart of Malton is this semi-detached, romantic cottage in Yorkshire, 6 Church Hill. A great base for couples or small families to tour the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds, this pet-friendly cottage provides off-road parking, a private garden with hot tub, and local amenities just a stone's throw away. You'll find all the home comforts in the well-equipped kitchen, including an electric oven and hob, washing machine, and coffee machine. After cooking a family-favourite, set up in the living/dining room with a table for two, followed by a cold beverage in your private courtyard. End the day relaxing in the warmth of the hot tub, whilst your canines rest their paws in the evening sun. Back inside, a stylish sitting area awaits with a Smart TV and a plush, grey sofa; this can be made into a double sofa bed for two extra guests! Climb the stairs to find a beautifully appointed shower room with a spacious walk-in shower and heated towel rail for extra comfort. The king-size bedroom has been thoughtfully finished with a wardrobe, dressing table, bedside lamps, and crisp linen to catch your rest. The picturesque market town of Malton is a lovely base and a foodie hot spot in North Yorkshire; La Trattoria Italian restaurant, №.46 Bar & Restaurant, and the renowned Florian Poirot bakery in the Talbot Yard Food Court are all close by, as well as a convenience store to pick up essentials. Malton hosts a weekly market to taste local produce, has a fascinating Museum to explore, and romantic strolls along the River Derwent. If you're looking for more outdoor adventures, head to the Howardian Hills AONB for The Yorkshire Arboretum and idyllic walks, or the North Riding Forest Park for a variety of hiking and cycling trails, both settled within the North York Moors National Park; you'll have so much to explore! If you're travelling with little ones, there's the Flamingo Land Resort with something for all ages, Woldies Lavender & Nature Farm, and the National Trust's Nunnington Hall is a grand estate with formal gardens, meadows, and historic tours. Leave the car at home and take a scenic train ride to the historic city of York; York Minster, the Museum Gardens, the medieval City Walls, and the curious Shambles and market are just some of the attractions on offer! Or perhaps you'll enjoy a day by the sea in the bustling resort town of Scarborough? Make 6 Church Hill your home from home on your next staycation in Yorkshire.

Malton, the historic heart of Ryedale, has many interesting buildings, including the Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. The town still has a weekly general market and livestock and farmer markets. The Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Wolds are to the north and south, making it ideal for walkers and cyclists. The stunning coastline is only 24 miles away, as is the historic city of York. A great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Cottage is ideally situated for local shops and public transport. Once we parked the car it wasn’t used again until we left. Cottage it self is well maintained and welcoming. Loved the hot tub. If I had to be picky, lap trays would have been useful and the stairs were quite steep. But all in all we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely book again.

Great location for exporting Yorkshire. Day visit to York, Flamborough Head & Becton cliffs, Eden Camp, Whitby, Filey & Hemsley. And the hot tub was lovely to come back too. Malton is full of good drinking & eating establishments.

A lovely cottage perfect for two. Great hot tub. Malton has a lovely Italian 2 minutes away and plenty of bars. The train station is 10 minutes away with trains to York and Scarborough only 24 minutes in each direction. Car parking information needs updating but once parked no problem. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were on hand if needed. We will definitely return. Thanks.
