What our customers say about their holidays

We had a wonderful fortnight stay at Ralston Bothy.
The cottage was clean and practical with a lovely kitchen that had such wonderful natural light! The Bothy, garden and orchard were perfect for our old dog, who could roam securely and sleep under the apple trees as she wanted. We topped up the feeders religiously( such a lovely touch to leave bird feed for us to use) and were rewarded with an abundance of birds and a visiting rabbit. Even a kestrel came and made an appearance in the garden, although the house martins weren't happy about it! The hot tub was a sublime luxury. Perfectly positioned so that it was completely private, we used it daily! Located perfectly for a day trip to Dundee to see 'Discovery' and the V&A museum and also to visit the wonderful Glamis Castle and to do the spectacular Snow Roads Scenic Route through Balmoral etc-a very long drive but the most stunning driving route ever and so worth doing. Laura-Jayne was a very considerate host. She completely respected our privacy, which we valued but was quickly contactable if necessary. The only thing wrong was not being able to stay longer! Thank you for a much needed relaxing and nourishing break, Laura-Jayne.

Kendoon Cabin was lovely, it was so remote and there is no light pollution, you could see the stars. The hot tub takes a bit of work, it wasn't filled for us which has we known that we would have got there earlier to do this as it takes a while. A couple of housekeeping things, there was dog mess round the side of the cabin near to the tap for the hot tub. Luckily we didn't step in it but not very pleasant, the chairs and blankets were also covered in dog hair which was a bit annoying. I understand you allow pets but I would expect there to be no trace of them for the next guests. We were also left a sponge and dish cloth, the sponge was well used. Given how much money we spent to stay there I would expect a new sponge and most of the dishes/cutlery were dirty, again it is the responsibility of the user to do the dishes but I would have expected housekeeping to double check the details. These small things just knocked the shine off the place a little. We still had a wonderful time but was left a little disappointed by the standard of housekeeping not being met.

Simply outstanding.
From the safe car parking area next to your cottage, to the enclosed large communal garden to the idyllic location of the cottages - this has it is all. The cottage itself (Birch) was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything youâd need. The smart tv allows Netflix and Prime log ons, which you can then view from the comfortable couch after a dayâs walking in the hills. Beds are superb and are clearly very expensive and luxurious leading to a superb nightâs sleep. The owners Adam and Leanne are on hand should you need any advice or guidance on the area or your cottage. The whole set up and organisation when youâre there is one of a âsafe spaceâ and very comfortable. The location allows travel and visits to lots in the Cairngorms and is a super base. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely cabin in stunning surroundings. The cabin was spotlessly clean and had almost everything you could possibly need for a break. We loved the wood fired hot tub, especially after a swim in the loch, and had pretty much got the hang of firing it up by the end of our stay. There were a couple of small issues, we had booked to stay for a week and the weather was terrible for the first few days, there was no way to get anything dried. We could really have used a drying screen to hang wet clothes and towels on. Ideally a small washer dryer would be fantastic, there is space under the kitchen counter. When the weather turned nicer towards the end of the week a small drying rotary line outside would be great. This did not spoil our holiday by any means but would certainly have made it nicer. I would definitely go back again.

The accommodation was amazing. The location is absolutely stunning! Would highly recommend and would come back again. Just a few things that we were not happy with, the hot tub didn’t have a thermometer as stated in the booklet so we struggled to get it to the right temperature. The booklet also said that there was WiFi which there wasn’t. And we messaged the first two names on the booklet for assistance, one responded but poorly, and the other one didn’t respond at all. There was also a lot of bugs so would recommend them getting a fly trap. We were bitten a lot even with bug spray. There also seems to be a discharge pipe under the cabin which seem to attract the bugs. There were actually less bugs the closer to the loch you got. Overall a fab holiday with great views and wildlife :)
