What our customers say about their holidays

The Hayloft was perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Really attentive hosts, we arrived to find milk, bread, and cake left for us which was incredibly thoughtful. We spent every evening in the hot tub, just enjoying the peace. Some of the towels left for us were stained which was disappointing, but overall the cleanliness was good, and the bedroom is so gorgeous. The pub across the road is so friendly, with an unexpectedly large vegetarian menu. I spent all week drinking whinberry gin, so lovely! We took our dogs for beautiful walks right on the doorstep, no need to drive anywhere. Such a lovely area. We fully utilised having the shop across the road, and again were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked it was and the variety of products. We were, however, quite shocked to walk in one day to hear a conversation between a shopkeeper and some locals that was transphobic and quite homophobic. It was made even worse when they tried to include us in this derogatory conversation. Though this has nothing to do with the holiday property, it may be worth noting if you're planning a stay. Again, this is of no fault to the hosts; we loved staying at the Hayloft and were sad for our holiday to end. We had such a great time

Not happy at all with this property.
Central heating was abysmal, was constantly switching off due to the boiler switch being flicked overnight. This occurred every night we stayed. I specifically requested the hot tub area to be prepared for use upon arrival, hot tub was prepared but there was no garden light whatsoever so hot tub was rendered useless at night time. No TV in the bedroom, had to borrow the TV from the living room. Toilet seat was cracked, and bathroom was too cold to use at times due to the central heating issue. I booked my stay for 7 nights, but cut it short to just 4 nights because of the terrible experience - requested a full refund from the owner but that was denied - was only compensated less than half of what I originally paid for the booking (even though the property owner constantly had to come and sort out the heating issue) so was not happy at all about the experience overall. I will never be booking here again, and I would never recommend anybody to stay here (unless you like living in a fridge-freezer). Horrible, horrible experience. 0/10.

Jacobs Meadow is a lovely warm cozy pod.
When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by a new spacious conservatory that has been added to the property over looking the pond (not currently shown in the website photos) which added more living space to the overall footprint of the pod. This included comfy garden furniture and extra floor storage space for bags, coats, boots etc. We loved the comfortable fold down wall bed (already premade with bedding!) which was a very novel feature, and everything needed for a weeks stay is provided. A beautiful bottle of bubbly was on the table when we arrived making a welcoming arrival gift. The designated roomy car parking space is much closer to the pod than we first thought (going off the current website photos) which made life easier when unloading and loading the car. All in all a super building and incredibly romantic (plus, our little dog loved it too). Well done Jacobs Meadow!!!! 10/10

The cottage was lovely and the owners are lovely.
I had a problem due to my mobility and had a couple of problems, the double bed was very large and reached to the walls of the room. I couldnât climb onto it, however the two single beds were very comfortable. Everything in the cottage was extremely comfortable and lovely and clean. I think if someone had a bit of mobility issues that should be mentioned as the steps going up to the cottage a couple of them were deep there is a rail to help. Also the stairs inside due to the turns gave me a bit of a problem, however the downstairs toilet made it easier than having to go up and down. It is a lovely cottage and well worth a visit handy for all the lovely places to visit, and thank you to the lovely owners of the property

What a little gem this is!
The pod is a total home from home with the hosts having thought of literally everything you could need, even board games and old fashioned comedy dvds! On arrival the place was absolutely spotless . The box of shortbread waiting for us was a lovely touch too. The small space is maximised very cleverly and there was plenty of room for 2 of us and my huge dog! The setting is so picturesque and peaceful, just what you need on a get away from it all break. The little summer house at the top of the meadow is a great addition for POD1 as currently thereâs no undercover outdoor seating. We made full use of it, watching the wildlife in and around the pond. All in all a fab stay in a faultless place. We will be back!
