What our customers say about their holidays

Wisteria cottage was the perfect cottage.
Stepping through the door we were greeted by a lovely slice of homemade cake, a bunch of fresh flowers, a packet of biscuits, a box of chocolates, a pint of fresh milk in the fridge and not to forget a jar of treats for our 4 legged family member. The cottage was warm and cosy and equipped with everything you could ever need and more. Darton and Maxine were the perfect hosts. Maxine looked after the cottage to a very high standard and served us in the restaurant she was always very pleasant to talk to and polite. Darton was the Chef who cooked the perfect Sunday Roast, which we ate in the restaurant and a lovely 3 course evening meal which he kindly delivered to the cottage as the restaurant was closed for evening meals at this time of the year (March). The cottage location was a perfect base for exploring the area. We would definitely recommend this Cottage to anyone and we will definitely be back for another stay.

Having spent quite a few years visiting this property, this year has been a little disheartening.
The property is clean and tidy at eye level, we just felt certain areas were being overlooked. On arrival, we were unpacking fridge items and had to clean it again as there were areas of food remaining. Our pillows in the master bedroom had no pillow protectors on them, and the duvet cover was ripped. The rug also in our bedroom has been there for years and is in need of a clean or replacement. The en-suite shower is in need of new sealant, all just looked a little tired. I spoke with Sykes regarding access to the property as Warfleet road has been closed since the 11/3/24, due to the road collapsing, no one had been told about this problem, so you have to go the long way round to enter the potteries. There has also been a lot of works vehicle near the entrance, so be careful on exiting the car park. I have taken photos if the owner wishes to see them, Iâm sure heâd appreciate some honest feedback.

Excellent stay and a lovely cottage.
The owners have gone above and beyond and have thought of everything you could possibly need, very impressed. We were welcomed to some lovely home made cake which was a delicious treat after our long drive,a box of chocolates, biscuits and a bottle of wine, They even thought to put a pint of milk in the fridge which again was a very nice thoughtful touch. The cottage itself was cosy but felt bigger because of the openness of the design which gives it a nice airy and spacious feel. Itâs a bit quirky and works well. For me it was a perfect holiday home. Even the wildlife was impressive, one morning a weasel ran across the lawn. My only slight criticism was that the bed felt slightly sunken in the middle,so not the perfect sleep but a new mattress would fix that. But overall we loved it ,very good stay and very well equipped ,I would happily book again next time I fancy a break in Devon.

8 the pottery is a wonderful appartment in an exceptional location.
The iconic building is steeped in history and ouses character. The beds are very comfortable. The whole place is decorated beautifully. Everything you may need is there for a relaxing time for all. The added bonus of parking on site is excellent as Dartmouth is a very beautiful and popular destination. There are lovely walks from the site and ofcourse you can walk into town !! Brilliant âºï¸. Personally I found the furniture not very comfortable or what to do with the big cushions. But that's probably just me. My family were happy enough. I also on a personal level think there should be another step to get into the ensuite shower. I appreciate it is probably not a problem to most but for a short person with a dodgy foot it was getting in and out. But that's just me. Overall it's a wonderful place to call your own for a while. Thank you very much.

The apartment was clean and quite well equipped with what you would expect.
Unfortunately there were several minor issues that let it down. The lounge furniture was so low that as an older person I found it difficult to get out of so spent the week having to sit on a dining chair. Conversely the mirrored bathroom cabinets were so high that I couldn't see in them. I'm 5'2' so although short would still expect to be able to see in them. The kitchen cabinets were also on the high side. The details mention that the bathroom has an over bath shower, this in fact was just a shower attached to the taps. perfect for hosing the children down after a day at the beach but not for 2 adults to have a proper shower meaning that we all used the one in the ensuite. The sockets in the bedrooms were not easily accessible for using hairdryer etc. As I say all fairly minor points but enough to spoil the comfort of the property.
