What our customers say about their holidays

Really great location for exploring Pembrokeshire.
Very spacious, well-appointed lodge. There were a few drawbacks: - to get to the lodge you have to walk past the main home entrance of the lodge owner; this wasnât a huge problem but didnât allow for any privacy for lodge guests and a little uncomfortable as it feels like youâre walking through someoneâs garden and worried about disturbing the owner when exiting the property/going to the car. - it was great to be able to take pets, but our room smelt a bit of dog. Perhaps unavoidable if dogs are allowed on premises. - the boiler was very temperamental, and we had only luke warm water in the main bedroom en suite. We should have spoken with owner but just used the main bathroom; this needs fixing. - the roads to and from the lodge are mostly B roads and many were severely water logged if not flooded. This comes with the lodge being rural but if youâve got a small sports car then you might want to borrow a car or go someone less rural! The owner left Welsh cakes and mince pies which were lovely and her communication with us was superb. The kitchen was really well stocked with pots, pans etc. and the kitchen being part of the living room area was brilliant for entertaining.

Generally the cottage is good, with reasonable if not top notch facilities [eg would like a cottage for 4 to have a dishwasher].
Although perfectly clean, the need for updating and the amount of knick knacks meant it didnât quite feel that way and it smelt a little damp, not helped by how dark the cottage was - lots of windows but overgrown vegetation and covered verandah reduced the light. Good cooking equipment and beds comfortable. I was annoyed by the total lack of response to my text to the owners asking about return of items I had left behind [you get the number because they ask you to text them the day before you arrive. Returning the favour would have been helpful]. Sykes were totally useless on this too - the link to the form did not lead to a form, I couldnât find one anywhere, the live chat was closed and sent you to WhatsApp, the response there was infuriating [we have info for you, do you want it? Umm, yes, then nothing, then describe what youâve left, I did, then the response WhatsApp is closed, please use SMS. I gave up. Customer Service this is notâ¦]

First impressions around entrance door on arrival were grubby dirty unswept and unkept.
Day 2 no water from shower head for 5-10 mins. When it came through it was disgusting hadn't been used or cleaned in months. There was no bottom seal on shower screen, so therefore the floor was flooded. We had to mop up with towels.Rang the owner who came round , said he'd had no problems before with the water situation also agreed that the shower seal was missing and that the bathmat should be replaced as well. We were told he would get things sorted and could we manage with a towel rolled up on the floor to mop up. Thinking this was only short term we agreed neither of us being mobile enough to use the bath as explained to the owner, we were very disappointed th at we never heard or saw anymore from him all week. We were unable to recycle as we would have liked due to 2 boxes and 3 lids missing from the stack, black bin also full.Having had our stay we are hoping future guests find these problems have been resolved.

A visitor from Germany and I had a brilliant week in Llandudno at Ar Lan y Mor.
The property is an a wonderful position in the West Shore area, just a 150 yards or so from the dog-friendly beach. The property is very accurately described, and was perfect for our needs. The owner was extremely helpful, for example: letting us know that we could enter the property earlier than advertised, leaving us some milk in the fridge, making sure that we were online and that we knew how the TV and Netflix functioned, etc. Very clear instructions pack. I had a senior moment and broke a glass - owner was very understanding! We also found the locals very friendly. There is loads to do in the town and in the surrounding area. We would gladly have stayed longer. All in all, a first class experience. Thanks. Grahame

A very big thank you to the owners for making our stay a very pleasant one.
They have thought just about thought of everything that would make your stay a memorable experience from furnishings to whatever kitchen utensil you never knew you needed hidden away in the cupboards, and the enclosed veranda and garden for the dog. Also a big thank you for the unexpected Welsh cakes that turned up by the front door while we were out sightseeing with the dog on the first day! The only apology due is from my wife and I,for forgetting to clean out the fire grate and put our bag of collected dog poos into the waste! We are very sorry for that and hope you forgive us! We would definitely book again if travelling to Pembroke again.
