  Wow, What a great stay to start our 2025 Holiday off! This property has a view to die for. From the main bedroom balcony you get an awesome view over the Marsh towards the river. There is a lovely cosy log burner which is easy to work with excellent instruction in the handbook. The Decking from the patio doors has a great feel and the garden looks like it has had a professional make over - watch out for the two statues - took us a couple of days to spot them!! The chatter of the birds is a sweet sound to your ears. The property has all you need for a comfortable stay, Good range of pots & pans but bring your own espresso coffee maker - we travel with ours everywhere. Location at the bottom end of the town is ideal. The seafront is only a 5 min walk [we are old and slow]. From the front of the house or the bottom of the garden you are straight into some lovely walks over the marsh area. Aldeburgh has some really nice restaurants and I would recommend booking before hand. Please don't all come at once as we do love it down here!! But if you do, enjoy.

  We did send an email regarding the cleanliness of the property at 23.02 on 17 November but have not received any reply. Bathrooms appeared to be as used by previous residents and not cleaned perhaps for a considerable time - a gross hair ball was in the bath and what looked like hair and toothpaste all over the sink. There was an unpleasant mark on one bath towel and on stripping the bed the pillows were stained and the mattress cover stained - really disgusting!- we took pictures if required. The kitchen had food residue in the sink and crockery and pans , very unpleasant. The house itself was fine and a lovely position and we have stayed in Suffolk secrets properties before and are staying in one in Southwold first weekend in December. This is the first time we have had this experience and it has made us a little unsure of going to unknown properties. We have stayed at Thallassa in Aldeburgh on many occasions and cannot speak highly of them for quality and cleanliness.

  the house was lovely - we wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to friends/family. only downside was a lumpy/uncomfortable undersheet in master bedroom. otherwise it was perfect for us (family of two adults, two kids, one dog) - house is spacious but cosy, has all the equipment required, clean, dog friendly open plan arrangement, great showers, fantastic location close (but not too close) to high st and wonderful garden with extensive decking and access to marsh paths at back. would have been good to know in advance of the building work in the empty plot opposite the house (digging foundations for new house) which caused some disruption to parking in street and some noise - but the builders were very friendly, communicative and considerate, so it didn't detract from our week there. the building work may be more disruptive/loud in later stages of construction though.

  Nightingale Cottage has one of the best bedroom views over the marshes of anywhere we’ve stayed in decades of visiting Aldeburgh, and has a beautiful garden with direct access to the marshes and river wall. It’s very conveniently located for the High Street and the beach in a quiet part of town. Parking can be a challenge, but we did always find space close by. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped and everything was spotless. We were delighted with the welcome bag of goodies. We found the double bed to be rather narrow, being used to a king size at home, but it was advertised as a double so can’t really complain.

  Excellent location..70 yards from one of the prettiest High streets and 70 yards from beach And exceedingly well equipped kitchen …with centrepiece kitchen table for 4/6 people.Agood sized dining room. Dated but comfortable. Firestone floor an attractive lounge/ living room with a piano comfortable. Settee and chairs all looking out to sea.Same floor a very large double bedroom / bed with large well equipped bath Up one further flight again two good sized bedrooms with one looking out to see Little garden but not necessary This place is quite a find
