What our customers say about their holidays

  • Christine - Verified booking

The cottage was poorly lighted, a number of the lamps did not work and there was a low chandelier directly over the main sitting area which needed to be avoided.

There were no spare bulbs or batteries at the property. The in-built cooker was obviously quite old, so much so that the markings indicating the temperature settings and oven settings were no longer readable, so made it very difficult to use the oven properly. A number of the baking sheets were dirty and could not have been checked before we arrived. The shower constantly dripped 24/7 and sounded very loud at night making it difficult to ignore when trying to sleep. The mattress cover on the double bed sported a large stain, which was there prior to our stay and should have been replaced before we arrived. The walls seemed paper thin and we could hear a lot of noises from the neighbouring properties. It would have been helpful if there was information at the cottage about recycling, it was difficult to know what is recycled locally.

    Perfect little cottage.

Decor was tasteful, homely and ideal for the style of property. Everything was so well layed out to maximise the space. Facilities were brilliant; absolutely everything we could have needed and more ( never before stayed at a cottage which supplied a slow cooker, hairdryer and straightners!) sofa and beds were all so comfy and the extra cushions and blankets are a lovely touch for getting cozy in the evening. The electric fire was useful to just take chill off the wooden floors early morning and evening - greatly appreciated by my elderly Mum who was with us. The perfect place to stay for all three generations in our family party of three. Would definately recommend this cottage and will be booking to stay again.

    Superb just what we needed.

Furniture in the lounge very comfy, and quirky. Loved all the different lamps and lights. Shower and heating excellent. Parking a real bonus. My daughter stayed for 3 days, she parked aswell. Super dog friendly. We carried her down to the garden due to steps, because she has 3 legs. Maybe a shovel to move the snow!!.Had to use a dustpan, first snowfall.Think the neighbour from the far house in the corner saw me ,next day asked if I wanted to use her snow shovel, which was very kind.Only item we didn't find was a potato masher. We managed a couple of walks before the snowfall.Visited Hebden Bridge.Skipton worth a day out. Would definitely recommend 100%. Thank-you Julie Alan and Nell the fox terrier

Just arrived back from a wonderful stay at Townend cottage and it did not disappoint.

Perfectly situated at the top of the hill in Haworth with under 5 minutes walk to shops, cafes and pubs. The cottage was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean and had everything you'd want for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We couldn't get the gas fire to work so a call to the owner and they came and sorted the issue in 10 minutes from calling them. We were very lucky with the weather and sat outside in the sunny garden after our walks, only issue we could see with the garden is our dog could get through the bushes into the neighbours garden so we had to keep him on a long training lead. Other than that this cottage is perfect and we would have no hesitation at all in returning.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Townend Cottage.

The property was spacious and clean and was in a ideal location for a short walk into the town centre. The bed was comfortable and the shower was very powerful. With the weather being so good during our stay, it was a bonus to have the garden to sit out in to soak up the sun. The only improvements we would suggest would be to have a lawn in the back garden, rather than all of the plants, which were quite overgrown, and there was also a shortage of some crockery, such as large bowls and larger drinking glasses. Having said that, this in no way reduced our enjoyment of our stay and we’d definitely recommend Townend Cottage to anyone looking for a property in Howarth.
