  We had a lovely holiday, thanks to the wonderful area the lodge is based in. Land train, great pubs, good onsite clubhouse and food etc. Being able to walk into Sewerby Hall from your door was great, but we would not return to this particular lodge. I don't like to criticize when effort has been made but it would have taken very little effort to improve the accommodation.I had read the review comments about the main bed and was delighted to see a new bed on our arrival with lovely fresh bedding. The lodge is not cheap to rent, though it isn't the most expensive on site either. However the bed purchased was cheap - the wood is like kindling and mattress, whilst firm, very poor quality. With a tiny bit more investment the owner could have purchased a comfy king size and transformed our stay. A comfy bed is a huge part of your holiday, a poor night's sleep, a sore back or general uncomfort can leave you lacking the benefit a holiday should give you.Beyond that, the walk in shower was ok, looks better than it functions and water floods the room, even if you place towels on the floor The main ensuite looks lovely but with no option for a stand up shower over bath, you can find yourself sharing an en suite facility.Finally the terrace, it was old, wonky, some attempt had been made at repair but no attempt to tidy up afterwards. My partner ended up sweeping up.The interior was spotless but no handwash, washing up liquid or any niceties that make a stay more appealing.

  The Lodge from first arriving neat tidy and beautiful bathrooms. After settling in. Double bed uncomfortable. One of the single beds latts broken. Son fell through first night. Kettle did not work. Extractor fan on cooker did not work. Vacuum cleaner did not work. Shower flooded the twin bedroom. Drains blocked looked like never been cleaned. Had to boil water in dirty pans if wanted a cup of tea. Complained first thing Monday morning. New kettle and Elliott (Repair man) arrived Tuesday morning. Elliot fixed extractor fan and put screws in bed to secure latts. We could now make a cup of tea. Elliot also cleared the shower drain. BUT the bathroom still flooded that evening. Gave up and went back to the bath!!!. Elliott could not fix the vacuum. Needed a new battery had to contend with sandy dirty floors for a week as no sweeping brush either! Should have had a pink pass card for entry into Sewerby Park. Could not find it. Could not enter park without it between 9 and 4. Such a shame as we believe could be perfect place to stay just needs a few tweaks. If not for Elliot our stay would have been cut short as it was not an enjoyable place to come back to each evening. Ooooh nearly forgot about the heating. Could not have the heating on ...on an evening it was locked at 13 degrees. Evenings were very cold.The location is beautiful the Lodge needs some work?

  What a beautiful location! The cabin is sited just a stones throw from the beach and the view from the cabin is just wonderful. We got up to watch the sunrise each morning and strolled along the beach, and what a beautiful beach it is. Although you could enjoy the sunrise from the comfort of the cabin just as easily. The cabin itself has two comfortable bedrooms and a lovely shower room. The kitchen is compact although fully functioning. There is also a dining table and large sofa. It's only a short stroll into Bridlington with its cafes, or you can jump on the park & ride or land train (dog friendly). I would recommend the Beach Hut for a relaxed dog friendly breakfast or lunch. Flamborough Head is just a short drive away and is wonderful and we got to see the seals! We loved the slower pace of life, great roads with less traffic. It was like going back to the 1980’s! We were blessed with great weather for October so we were lucky. There is so much to see and do in the area we couldn’t fit it all in so will be back soon! Amanda, Jason & Keesha

  Lovely lodge in a good location, convenient for coastal walks and access to the clubhouse and golf facilities. It would have been nice to have comfortable outdoor seating and a sun umbrella, as with Alfie and Bentley (though neither have umbrellas). The sofa bed needs a firmer divider between the bed and cushions, it gets a little uncomfortable but otherwise the seating and beds are all of a good standard, clean and comfortable. Great lodge layout, superb ensuite. Road fairly quiet despite being by a junction on the main access road to most accomodations.Bridlington has loads to offer, as does Sewerby. If you want a quiet break, great dog walks, something a bit more active or the thrill of the seaside and miles of great beaches. You have it all nearby.

  The lodge was lovey, spotlessly clean and well equipped kitchen with everything you would need. When we arrived the heating was on but far too warm for us we turned down the thermostat which is in the hall leading to bedrooms and bathroom but this only turned it down in that area but not the sitting room which was far too hot we then had to turn it off at the boiler which also turned the water off. There were no instructions in the book about the heating. it also could do with 2 small tables in sitting area to put a drink on instead of putting it on the floor, also needs a chair in bedroom for clothes. These comments are ment to be helpful and not a complaint Dispite the above we had a lovey stay at Fir Tree Lodge and reccomend it.
